Well I need some advice. There is one kid at my school who desperatley wants to race me and is pretty arrogant about it. Always does burnouts where I am or yells out lets race when Im driving around in the streets. Un fortuantly there is always heavy traffic on the freeway from the times I commute from school but I truely want to challenge in the back roads on the mountains right off the beach. My car is steptronic and is sport premium package. His Mustang GT is stock but convertable and I think had his muffler changed just for sound. Plus if he wants to race me he always has some chick in the car. It would be pretty funny to embaress him with them in the car. My question is... Will I dominate in what type of racing?

He should spank you from pure power (and assuming the fact he has a 5 or 6 speed). Back roads depends on driver. The fact he has a convertible makes his car heavier and I doubt ford did a stellar job at reinforcing the chassis to make up for the whole "no roof" thing. So you could probably take him on back roads, but he wont be too far behind. He has 285 ftlb of torque, and over 200 ftlb all over the place. You just barely make it over 220 ftlb and that is what truly makes a car accelerate.

But who cares, in the end of the day he's in a run of the mill Mustang, you have a run of the mill BMW.

I'd rather have the bmw [;)]

Don't race him dude. If you lose (and you will), he'll do the high school drama thing and tell everybody about it. If you win, he'll come up with some excuse how the race didn't really count.

Be mature about it - eventually the chix will be in your car and not his.

Why does spring always bring on street racing?

Take him in the twisties, he might not be able to handle it (being a convt), my suggest go on to the internet and try and find some videos of people racing the two cars and see how they perform.

By the way about that muffler and the "neat sound", are you sure it isn't draging on the ground from rusting away.

I know what you guys mean. I am mature about it. Im not really a street racer at all. the last time I raced someone was back in march that was the only second time I raced. I raced an Integra Type R. The is now currently the boyfriend of my ex. I badsically beat him easily. I showed them something but really I jsut dont like it how peopke want to race and prove soenthing. The nice thing however is that my high school is doing their own small car show. I submitted to be in it.

Dude do you get shit from people (or do you feel a bad vibe) because you are anal about keeping your car clean? That happened to me in highschool, but I parked with a bunch of car guys (who all had rear wheel drive by the way!) and that was pretty cool.

I can't imagine having the M3 in highschool... I probably would have died.

your car would beat a vert gt, im almost positive, gt verts are really slow. but is it really worth it i mean honestly, if you really want to race him have fun but be carful and samrt about it, most kids that street race in high school are dumbasses about it also and are really scary driving next to them at 60+ mph

I rarely get shit from people. Girls get attracted and beg for rides these days... good thing for me.... Just some arrogant guys who rice out their cars or the Mustang Drivers. Thats all. I jsut keep the car clean becasue I commute about 30 miles a day and the car gets dirty from having parked near an ocean during school times and then driving out to the ranches where I live and it gets ug juice galor from all that driving. I also drive alot for my photojournalism projects. Plus dont forget, BMW has very soft brake pads.... brake dust like crazy.

You are right about the dusty brake pads, one week and my bright silver wheels are now gunmetal gray [hihi] this is the only bmw I've owned with oem brakes. Not bad but dusty as hell.

Is this the new Mustang GT Convertible or the previous model? Your car does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds, his car does 0-60 in around 6 seconds flat. His car will eat yours for breakfast in a straight line, dude. And if you race him on some canyon roads, he'll end up driving off a cliff or something.

I killed a 03 GT 4 weeks ago in the ML. The 330i is pretty close to the ML. I wouldnt be suprised if its a pretty even match. Racing is fun provided you have a empty desolate road where there is no living soul around as well as cops.

Dude, one day somebody who actually knows how to drive, will race you 50-150, and you'll get slapped in the face with the truth.

your kidding i smoked a new mustange gt with my car well not smoked but we were even till about 80 when we stopped

I was kidding and said ford gt (you know, the supercharged V10 thing).

But yea, i'd imagine a mustang gt would JUST keep up with our cars since we have a little less weight. I highly doubt an ML whatever would rape OUR cars though...

Can I provide some insight here???? Two weeks ago I spanked a 2004 M3 in a 0-100mph race, SPANKED!!!! over 3 car lengths. Sheer power and torque will win in a straight line. You are talking about a 4.6 ltr V8 260 Hp 300 Ftlbs vs. 3.0ltr I6 225 hp I cannot find torque specs, but the M3 is putting out 262ftlbs. In the twistys you will own him no doubt, so if you race him....take him in the twisties.

Mate if you spanked an E46 M3, then the driver must've been a bloody spastic.
