I felt that the comparison of a 3 or 5 series to a list of sports cars was completely unfair.
Was it unfair to BMWs or to the sports cars? You said: "If you really think that the cars you listed have the same driving dynamics as a Bimmer, I'd tell you to lay off the crack pipe. Sure, those cars are fun but they don't even compare."
Your comment suggests that 3/5 series has better driving dynamics that the sports cars (again, the WRX is a sedan)--i.e. they/those cars (sports cars) don't even compare (to BMWs). This is saying that BMWs BEAT the sports cars on those terms, NOT that the sports cars that I mentioned beat BMWs. If you agree that BMWs are the better handlers, than the point about me comparing them to an RX-8 or 350Z is moot. So what, I compared the 3er or 5er to an inferior car (in your point of view), what does that prove??? I was saying that those cars do handle well (in my opinion) but that the 3/5er handle well as well, AND do a host of other things that those cars don't, etc......
Furthermore, this is completely besides the point as a I wrote several times. My point was not that BMWs perform better (or worse for that matter) in terms of driving characteristics, but that they COMBINE (in your case, exceed) the driving dynamics of said cars AND are practical/luxurious/safe in the same breath. It's not a matter of which is better at what, it's just a case of which does ALL things well. Man, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record.
BTW: Well put, Finally330i.
