You guys are stupid, arguing over 1-piston calipers. Its common sense that BMW is being cheap on the the most important thing in a car other than HP and Grip and thats stopping power!
yea becuase bmw brakes suck.

Are you guys kidding? BMW has some of the best brakes in the business...
they're powerful, of that there is no doubt. But they fade like there is no tomorrow and don't have much longevity for hard use.

For sure, if you need to slam on the anchors cos you're about to hit a little kid or another car or something then they're great. Just don't use them at the track or even hard on the road because they'll turn to jelly.

Well that is true, they do fade a little and get soft... but they still provide decent stopping power and for city run arounds they're firm and perfect.

Exactly, when it comes to having to stop quickly now-and-then bmw is some of the best in the business. Imagine if they went a little more hard-core?

And glad you loved the "argument" [hihi] We're here to entertain.

I think race car drivers would disagree, but then again, their differentials are a little better than what any of us could see paying that much for!!

BTW The e30 is EXTREMELY tail happy, just the nature of the car. My e34 can take off pretty good on turns in the rain and both had 25% lsd's.

I miss the e30, that thing was fun as hell in the rain....sometimes. On the highway, with the crappy tires I had, it was more scary than anything.
yeah the e30 is tail happy :D
but also on the highway with alot of rain in my m3 the rear tires will accually float on the water because they are so fat. it scared me the first time. so now I never drive more than 60 in the rain

Could be the type of tire you have.
