Why? Just like you explained your situation, that you work, that you paid for you car and that you are a volunteer paramedic on the side, one of those "rich spolied kids" may be in a similar situation. The fact is, you don't know. I'm glad you were fairly well-off as a kid, but others' might not have been, and that they're driving around in a BMW at 17 or 18 or 19 is no indication of their past. Sounds odd I know, but it's certainly the case for my family and myself.
