Tom, you can't bust an attitude assuming everyone's an "adult" [:p] like some of the posts on this thread, that one came out of the left field imo. i don't get it anyway.. if you keep acting "tough" i might not want to come back [;)].... geesh.

i don't like this fingerpointing, "how dare he make a personal attack, I'm ah yell back with power of the F bombs!!' well let me give you a virtural pat on the back. you should be real proud of yourselves.
[rofl] I think that's gotta be the longest way ever of saying "Tom never gives anyone an attitude"...

ok let me clarify again what i meant by "m3 coupe" an m3 is totally different than a fixed up 325i there is a huge difference. not to say that the m3 may be stock but the m3 has nicer interior a nicer steering wheel better braking performance and handling performance. the 2-door to me looks alot better in appearances than a 4-door. and if you were to fix up an m3 like they may have done to this bmw it obviously would have been better than this bmw. i like the grill on the m3 aswell adds to the appearance. and you cant tell if this bmw had anything done to the engine so you cant assume its better performing than an m3.there that was long!

You guys hating on new cars that are done up make me laugh..

That car likely is faster and much better handling than a stock e46 M3 - keep hating... Engine swap, or a low end SC, or a nice Turbo, and that thing will eat M3's - But hey it doesn't look 'stock' like 95% of the cars here, so it must be 'RICE CRAP' or whatever..

To say you don't like how it looks is one thing - to ignore the performance of the car is another.

I personally don't like 2-tone cars - but that somehow looks good to me. (Don't like the front scoop w/ those metal arms - but hey they are there for a purpose - or, are designed with a purpose - likely attached to this car for 'looks').

To each their own.. Just don't be ignorant.
I don't recall anyone "hating" on it, especially becuase of it being new...

I'm just going to sum this up, as it's not worth going into detail... Most of the things you mention as making it better than a 325i (It's probably a 330i zhp in the least imo) are options which are far from M3 exclusive. As for the brakes, I'm not even going to comment since you obviously didn't look at the pictures. Lastly it's the internet we all can speculate and assume whatever we please. There is no need to clarify anything, everyone got it the first time... since it doesn't have an M3 badge it's inferior and ugly.

i highly doubt that, that fixed bmw has better brakes than that of a competition package m3 and if...you....looked at the pic the brakes aren't even crossed drilled. today the best performing brakes require cross drilled rotors for maximum performance. and an m3 can still beat a 330 so thats out of the picture. hands down no other 3 series can out perform an m3 except another m3 ok so peoples just calm down k....ha gees. oh but now i realize why BMW 325i is so upset he feels personally attacked cuz thats his profile sry bout that BMW i didnt mean to offend you in anyway. and by the way so you guys dont spark another aguement the BMW M3 competition package does have cross drilled rotors.

We are talking about the picture young buck, the picture! We cant even really discuss performance because we dont know whats under the hood of the car. We dont even know what kind of suspension it has..... We cant even say 325i, 330i...hell it could even be a 323i for all we know....we cant discuss interior because there arent any pictures of that.....visually the ONLY difference between that and a M3 are the lights, M3 side grills, and the 2 "EXTRA" doors...LOL....the trunk is the same as on the M3 CSL, the front spoiler is an M3 widebody replica....I mean I like Coupe better to...but I dont think it would look SOOOOOO much better as just a coupe.....maybe better but not by that large a margin.....

Cross drilled rotors are not required, or even necessarily best, for high performance braking systems. That's a myth. The brakes on the car pictured could be better than an M3 comp, since we do not know what brakes are on the car.

I don't believe I've ever seen "adults" act this way. Can't we just post polite opinions about it? Coming from several paintball forums, which are overrun by people between the ages of about 13-50, this is rediculous. We never had any problems with an entire thread getting out of hand just because some ***** decided to rain on someone's parade.

ANYWAY, I personally like the looks of the e46. Looks pretty cool to me. Being an e30 driver, I prefer the e30, but still. Both are nice. I'm willing to bet the e46 has something to back up the looks.

Ooooo Oooooo, can i start a "my dad is stronger than your dad!" deal now? seems the thread is just about there..

couldn't resist the brake comment tho: looks like e46 in question has its slotted, and in some debates, slotted rotors are better than cross drilled. better yet, our own thread

what's ha gees? [???1]

Overdone!

UGH! Why do people take moderately priced cars and spend thousands to make the base model look so ugly!?!?! Drop the stupid decals and get rid of the black trunk and roof! (Or get the car painted black) And the spoiler lip in front...like that is going to help out a lot... The person who modifed this car should have just got an M3...and he probably could have done it for less money.

lol epj3, I meant real people, not machines brainwashed into politics. To keep on topic, bmwbozo, people do what they want, because that's what they like. I agree that the lip on the front probably won't get any use because I doubt this is a track car, but I do think it looks pretty mean. Me being a no-decal fan myself, I don't personally think this one looks bad because it still looks clean. If I had the money to drop, I'd make a sick-in-the-face 4-door just to do it.

pardon me for nitpicking but why dont F1 cars or rally cars have them?

If I had the money to drop, I'd make a sick-in-the-face 4-door just to do it.
I agree with you on the point of wanting to do it because you can. Two projects that i will most definately work on in the future (when i have the funds :p) are to soup up a station wagon and a minivan. I love the idea of modifying ordinary cars, but i dont like overdoing the joke! I am also a no-decal person, and personally i like modifications to be subtle yet menacing. In your face hardcore modifications do not work on every car, but (bar the decals and the 2tone paint scheme) it seems to work on the E46 nicely in my opinion. I like the facelifted headlamp cluster on the E46 better than the first generation.

He said formula 1, not mclaren F1 (unless you're talking about their formula 1 car...)
