police don't give a hoot who was driving. They just put some junk in a report and go home.

It sucks what happened, but (IMHO) I think your taking your frustration of the incident out on the investigating officers. I mean, honestly, what can the officer do. I mean, they are not stupid, they probably deal with that stuff enough to know when people are lying and when they are not, but at the end of the day (and in court) its just an opinion based on interaction / circumstantial evidence; there is nothing the officer can do to help you with proof.

And I think, a lot of officers actually do care; of course there are exceptions, but for the most part I think they try to uphold 'justice' or at least some version of it.

And moreover, even if you could prove she was the driver, if she was driving uninsured I sincerely believe she would be insolvent anyway. So what good would it do to know that she is the driver? You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip.

I'm not trying to jump down your throat or be sanctimoniuos (sp?) or anything, it's just that after reading so many torts cases I have come to the depressing realization that it's not that the police don't care or don't want to help, it's just that sometimes bad things happen to good people and there is, unfortunately, no remedy.

i'm not taking anything out on officers in this case. (in some other cases i would) but i'm not saying they didn't do thier job because they did, they wrote up all the facts they could find (maybe - they really didn't put any effort into it - just talked to some people), put it in a report and that was that. They didn't form a search team or anything, they didn't look in the car for anything they didn't do anything special thats all. I'm saying they won't investigate much unless there are injuries. (who knows really) i'm really not too worried about it, if no one got hurt i wouldn't care either.

yeah it sucks i lost so much money but its in the past and i knew she couldn't pay anything anyway (why i didn't press charges). she just paid 9000 for her shetty grand am a few weeks before she wrecked it all over the place. She had insurance for a week and dropped it. She's probably still paying off her totalled car.

blah bla blah honestly as far as cops and justice for my case and the ferrari case, i'm not all that concerned. I dont' feel like you are jumping down my throat. I was just adding a bit of my 2 cents.

BTW My cousin is a cop and i love the guy.

Actually they did. They searched the foothills around Malibu and even had a police helicopter searching the area, no one was located. Police seized the car for a CSI team to inspect and they have taken blood and other trace evidence.

The Plot Thickens according to the LA Times:

That is the smallest flatbed ever...

I actually drove by the spot on PCH where he crashed yesterday on my way to Neptunes Net; you can still see the skid marks. I observed a moment of silence for the enzo's passing.
