So since the video was shot, they found the driver and passenger according to your first post? Looks like the utility pole is opposite of an intersecting road. Perhaps another vehicle was a factor in how the Ferrari found it's way up to the pole.

Entertaining pix to say the very least.

Terrible. PCH in Malibu is not too far from us. We drive it all the time, it is our favourite place to take the Alpina (besides from Mulholland Drive). It is dangerous, so many A-holes drive like maniacs, and ruin it for the majority. There is major police action, they are really trying to crack down..especially on the up and down hills (by Cher's house) where people really like to gun it.

PCH is an absolutely perfect place to open up your car. The roads (for the most part) are well paved with only mild changes in elevation. There are several mile long straight-away's and some really nice turns; moreover, the scenery and weather is usually incredible. Also, the sorrounding roads (Mulholland Highway, Kanan, Topanga, etc) are even more condusive to "spirited driving."

The problem with this drivers paradise are the drivers. Like you said, too many idiots and way too many people with money and cars that are way out of their league. The police are definitely cracking down (especially on the bikers- who account for, I would argue, a majority of the problems).

Problems or not, my problem is I also like to run on these roads, and for the most part, there couldn't be a more perfect place to do it. Now, I'll be the first to condemn drivers for trying to take their races to the streets; however, as much as we all want to say that people should only drive safely, I am sure that all of us have opened up our cars at one time or another. It just sucks because when people go down (especially in ridiculously awesome cars) its draws a lot of unwanted attention.

...but then again, seeing that Enzo does make baby jesus cry.

Did anyone watch the videos? The specs for the car are pulled out of somebody's ass. "Thats a 16 valve V8 engine", umm, guess again, might come closer. Just shows you the quality of the news we get.

Jim, you sure those guys had no internal bleeding. For those quality of news, a busted lip might be a busted intestine or kidney!

Big Daddy said:
News reports said that he was going over 200 mph and no other vehilces were involved, for what its worth.

I have to disagree with this statement, How about a race track?
I agree, and the track has the side benefit of no utility poles [hihi]

This is very sad waist of machinery. What I find funny is the report of the "passenger" having blood on his mouth, two airbags deployed, but only the driver-side airbag has blood on it. The report states the "passenger" stating the "driver" took off and is no where to be found....hmmmm....riiiigghhtttt.....

In my opinion the "passenger" is the missing driver and no one was actually sitting in the passenger seat. My question is; who is the registered owner of this car and if the "passenger" was actually the driver was he the owner and if not did he have permission to drive this work-of-art?.....

Los Angeles Times has a 2 page write up about this today. The owner is some Swedish Millionaire, and his German friend "Dietrich" was behind the wheel. According to witnesses, he was racing an SLR. Official speed was set at 120mph, not 200 as people are saying.

The police have not found the driver yet, but the Swedish owner (passenger) was over the legal CA blood alcohol limit.
