That is one stunning Ford... I mean Range Rover [rolleyes].. seriously very nice automobile and I hope it serves you well.

Actually the car was developed under BMW ownership and indeed as part of the deal when Ford bought Land Rover from BMW, the project had to be completed by BMW.... so in fact it is actually a BMW Orphan. [bmwdance]

I have always been a huge fan of the Land Rover Marque and was a little saddened when it was sold to ford.

[:D] Thanks. Ford was smart when it bought Land Rover, and also Volvo. There is NOTHING Ford about either of these marks. Ford's one goal was never to alienate, or upset Rover or Volvo buyers. So you will never find any Ford parts or influnence in either vehicle. The Rover is still built in England, and the Volvo in Sweden. I am not a fan of Ford, but it gave these 2 companies A LOT of money, and the resources to make a nice car great!! If I even felt the slightest bit of Ford, I wouldn't have touched the Rover. Actually, there are a few direct parts from the 7 Series buttons & controls. It feels comforting and like home [cheers]

Nice buy Adam, take her offroad you'll see what she can really do haha.
Thanks Matt [cheers] . So far, I totally love it. It really handles and feels like a car in the city, and from what I have read, only the MBZ G Class is as capable off road. The fit, finish, materials and options/packages are so amazing.

Except the Volvo S40 is built on the Mazda 6 platform/chassis. THAT would never have happened if Ford hadn't bought Volvo.

The grille on that suv looks like part of the press I work on at work. You know, the floor.
Growing up, my Mom always told me: "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" [joke]

But seriously Eric, if you look at any negative comments, or snide remarks in a lot of posts...they usually come from you. What's up with that? Anyway, I'm the one paying for, and driving the Range Rover...and I think it's a kick ass car. If you want to race me in your M3.....I think my 390hp/410 lbs torque might enjoy the afternoon [wiggle]

Adam what about the X5 4.8is? Isn't this car a little bit of doubling the niche? Did you sell it?
Yeah, Steve 4.8is is gone!

My bad. The X5 is gone in the sense that we keep it at our business facility, as we have outgrown our parking places at home. We have a 17,000 sq ft manufacturing building, with lots of indoor, protected "parking" areas. So, I should have been more specific in what I meant in "4.8is gone". It's "gone" from our garage, but it's at work, and gets driven all the time.

I didn't really mean it in a bad way. The suv is extremely hot IMO, I'm not a fan of that grill though. I think if it were in black I'd like it. I was out the door on my way to work and should've taken the time to write a full post [hihi]
