x5ed, it shouldn't matter if a person does or doesn't own a BMW to be able to post here. Everyone is welcomed. You stated your opinion on street racing and I agree with it 100%. However your continuing to bicker back and forth like kids is just silly.

I respectfully disagree. If a poster does not even minimally share the primary interest of the forum's target audience, and comes here to promote irresponsible or illegal behaviors, then he or she is subject to whatever comes his or her way. However, it is your perogative to lock the thread if you disapprove of its direction. In fairness, I suggest you lock or delete any threads that promote or condone illegal and dangerous activities.

Furthermore, a silly discussion is far better than a deadly one.

Dude, Tom knows I originally came to this board interested in an X5 3.0i. Then after that, my preference changed to the 330xi, then to the 330Ci. Wanting to get a Coupe, I started seeing all these magazine articles about the G35 Coupe. I saw it, checked it out, test drove, and I really really liked it. I test-drove the 330Ci as well, but the G35 Coupe just swayed me more....brand new great looking body, 280hp, Brembo brakes, nice interior and leather, etc. So I ended up with the G35 Coupe.

I kindly thank you for your suggestion and will take it into consideration. As far as locking or deleting this thread, I'm sure everyone here is old enough to make their own decision and understand the difference between right and wrong. To get back to your point about target audiences, the primary interest of everyone here is their interest in cars, be it BMW or not. If you find a topic that you strongly stand against then by all means state your opinion. I for one love to engage in any healthy debates. But to tell a person not to post here because he or she isn't BMW inclusive is just childish.

So find a ricer forum and tell them how to wreck their cars and wipe out the general population if that's what they're interested in. Your post has absolutely zero to do with BMW's.

Sorry, man. I don't see one shred of difference between street racers and any other brand of terrorist. You'll find no quarter here and there is no defense for it. Like I said: be man, find a track and do it right. Beating the average schmuck on the street proves nothing. You'll figure that out in time. Hopefully, before you kill someone else or yourself.

x5ed has left the building. :)

Re-entering the building to say I don't believe I told anyone not to post here. I don't own this forum so I have no right to. However, the domain name is "bmwboard.com" so it leads the reasonable person to believe it's for and about BMW's. As I said earlier, I guess I'm wrong. More about teenagers street racing in their rented Nissans, perhaps? If that's the will of the site owner, I'm cool with that. At least I know who doesn't deserve my traffic.

Well, Ed, I apologize if my comments lead you to this decision as it was not my intent. I was merely stating my own opinion in response to yours. If I misinterpret your post then I will be the first to say I'm sorry. We're both adults here and I don't see any reason why anyone should leave because of a few exchanges. I don't take any of your opinions personal and I hope you do the same towards me. After all what are forums for other than exchanges of opinions and ideas?[thumb]

"If you think I do 5x the speed limit, you simply don't have a brain."
Do you remember posting this recently?? "I once did 110 in a 25 zone." OK so by my math thats only 4.4 times the speed limit. [whip]

Or how about ... "I'm still too immature to decline." [thumbd]

I think its possible to kill cars and have stories without ever breaking the speed limit because I do it all the time.

Sometimes when I'm up to it, I just gun it at a light and leave everyone in the dust and as soon as I reach the speed limit I slow back down.

It's satisfying enough for me, I couldn't imagine going 2, 3, 4 times over the speed limit to race someone.

Yeah this is getting a little outta hand...

x5ed this is a BMW enthusiasts forum but you dont have to own a BMW to love them/know about them. I think we all need to respect eachother's opinion where possible.
I reckon smoking people at the lights up to the speed limit is fine. We're all enthusiasts and so, to some degree, we probably condone safe speeding (yes, i think there is such a thing...)

BTW, i killed a VW Beetle at the lights today!! [hihi][hihi][hihi]

wow x5ed, if you are going to leave the forum over this, you might as well crawl into a ball and stay there. The front door of you house might offend you.

How about the real reason you might be leaving. You got into a heated discussion, made an ace of yourself, and now you feel too dumb to post anymore. As much as we all want to, we can't change the world. Sometimes you just have to deal with some things.... a harmless "kill" thread.... DEAL WITH IT!

Honestly, if i didn't own a BMW does that mean i don't know anything about them?? I dont' understand what your point is. I don't own a e46... but i can still help out with some problems people have in that section.

Thats just plain makism! Judge a paerson on the make of thier car! You should be ashamed! hehe.

Yikes.

I'm not really up for a 'kill' section even though I've posted 1 or 2 myself. I think there's a conflict of total opposite opinions with you 2 guys - and neither of you hard heads is listening, just standing on your platform yelling at each other. [:(] (Are you guys running for president??)

X5 - good points, this board attracts the 'other' crowd - you know the ones that get tired of the silliness on E46fanatics and places like that.

MrE - You don't have to own a BMW to be here, you know that.. [:)] That'd be like everyone talking all day to hear themselves.. Good to have different opinions - and different car talk here in addition to our BMW smack.

I find myself posting more and more here, vs the 'other' BMW boards I frequent, because basically I'm 'tired' of the other ones. Same old crap, same ole 'look at this spoiler' or 'check out the pics of my AA SC' or the likes. Here it's folks that although don't always get along, usually respect each other and their opinions. A miracle for the Internet if you ask me.

Now settle down or it's wet noodle lashings for both of ya! [whip]

I'd say 60% of my posts were from before I owned a BMW.

Great post Section 8. This is the main reason I post here almost exclusively. I get tired of the other stale boards. There is always bitching, who has the fastest car, that is BS type posts, and all around nastiness that gets very old.

This board has a lot of intelligent people with a lot of information to share. It's nice to see a new person post here for the first time and ask a question that we all here know has been asked a million times, but instead of flaming the new member, people will still answer without belittling him/her. People should be able to post here without worrying about what other people will think and how they are going to respond. Most other forums I don't get that feeling.

Tom has setup a very nice site for all of us. It is hard to show him how much we appreciate his time, money spent, and effort it takes to keep it running. One way we can do this is by being civil to others (even if their views differ from ours) and keeping the forum true to form by not letting it turn into what a lot of the other forum have become; bitching, flaming, and all out name calling forum.

This is a BMW forum, but it is more about car enthusiasts who have a wealth of knowledge to share and different viewpoints. It helps keep the forum fresh and interesting. You don't have to worry about topics getting stagnate. Lets all help in trying to keep it this way. Lets all get along.....

Steps down from soapbox....

MRs Grunt and DUDE, awesome posts. Just hilarious.
Oh by the way, I was going on a on ramp, two lane merging into one, some asswipe would not let me in, sorry to say but had to drive on the shoulder and take his ass and the car in front of him. He would not even look at me when I slowed. Too bad I was going to smile.
