I'd be too worried about stripping my own paint..... [cheers]

Another peeve of mine are motorcycles driving down the middle of the lanes. They do this in CA during rush hour traffic jams. Apparently this is legal here. Seems dangerous, but then so is just riding a motocycle in traffic.

[driving2]
It's called lane splitting, and it's legal in California and some other, but not all, states.

One of my peeves is when people open their car doors because they are mad at motorcyclists being able to move when they can't. Now that's dangerous!
The people who do that should be shot. For those opposed to the death penalty, then I suggest life without parole. That's attempted murder. Either way, get those idiots off the road cuz they're too stupid to be driving a 3000 pound weapon. Clear up the freeway a little too.

Guys, while you all are discussing your pet peeves, we should really be coming up with solutions to them. Don't you really get pissed when either one of those things happen to you? Well, why not air out the anger. When you get a left lane bandit (a few of them here, won't mention names though), after you manage to pass him, why not do the same thing to him? Or better yet, downshift so you slow down but the idiot never sees your brake lights and has to quickly react. On the other hand you can never do anything to stop all of them. BTW, somebody told me why motorcycles have such a loud exhaust (I mean why people make them so loud on purpose), how many times did you whitness somebody on a motorcycle getting cut off just because they are not as visible? Well, with a loud exhaust, it sure is easy to hear them so its just a safety precaution. Also, Mr. E, no offense, but I hate NJ drivers, heh. Not all of them of course, just most of them seem a bit too slow, wether its moving from a red light, just going down the road or plain old obeying the rules. I guess you just get used to NY traffic and think everyone else is slow.

Picture rush hour, stop-go traffic through a 4-way intersection.
Traffix Lights turn orange... idiot driver / bus pulls into the middle of the intersection blocking all traffic going through the opposite direction.

GGRRRRRRRR!!

Not as driving related as the rest - but how about when you're behind someone who smokes and they, i don't know what this is called, but when they tap the top of the butt and the ashes fall onto the road and bounce up onto your hood?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh that's frustrating.

Nobody likes new jersey drivers [rofl]

I hate it whne people throw the entire cigarette out the window and it hits my car. I would shoot them if I had a gun. If it's night and they do it, I give them my highbeam treatment (which I don't know how bright other bmw's headlights are, but e30's with ellipsoids are freakin BRIGHT)

My pet peeves change with the circumstances, but currently its pedestrians who walk behind your car when your backing up. This is dangerously stupid. There is no way you can view all sides at once and the fools invariably strut in from the "blind" side of the moment. Of course if you hit the idiot your wrong, but if anyone knows of a case where a judge denied a pedestrian damages in this or similar situation, I would love to see the link.

That reminds me of a time when I was driving and these pedestrians were crossing in the middle of the street just as I made a right turn. They were walking soooo slow, I had to come to a complete stop. They acted as though they owned the road. Well I couldn’t resist I leaned on my Hella horn (118 db) so hard that one of them dropped their coffee. I started laughing so hard as I revved the engine and took off. [hihi]
