Being an NY/NYC driver, I can put up with a lot of shit, but here are my ultimate pet peeves:
My personal pet peeves for driving:

-People who change lanes without checking their blind spot or mirrors properly. I've been cut off too many times to count because of shit like that....just last week these four guys in an Explorer suddenly merged into my lane because he didn't check anything before he made the lane change. I had to slam on my brakes and veer hard to the left, but not too hard so as not to hit the center divider....that stupid kid made me come to an almost-complete stop on the f*cking highway, man I was pissed off and freaked out.
-People who driver under the speed limit
-Left lane hogs
-People who leave their signal indicator(s) on, or hazards, for no f*cking reason at all...YOUR SIGNAL IS STILL ON YA DUMB SHIT, TURN IT OFF OR MAKE A LANE CHANGE!!!
-People on the road who turn my commute into an even in which I have to risk my life. My college is in Garden City, NY so I have to take NY highways and although the highways serve as great roads, it is by far the most life-threatening experience almost every time...God I hate NY drivers.

My biggest pet peeve, especially here in Los Angeles...actually comes from BMW drivers. I understand that we drive the "Ultimate Driving Machine", and that our cars are amazing, and we think we are hot driving a Bimmer.......BUT it seems like turn signals must be optional for California BMWs. No one here friggin' uses the turn directionals. It is so frustrating, and REALLY dangerous. When you are driving behind someone, you need to know what they are planning. Just click the little black stalk either up or down...it's really that simple! I swear.

If you are one of the non-signaling BMW drivers, you can maintain your coolness eventhough you use your turn signal.....because it is so not cool when the rear end of your Ultimate Driving Machine is squished to hell.

(for those that don't know... brake fluid strips paint [rofl])
I'd be too worried about stripping my own paint..... [cheers]

Another peeve of mine are motorcycles driving down the middle of the lanes. They do this in CA during rush hour traffic jams. Apparently this is legal here. Seems dangerous, but then so is just riding a motocycle in traffic.

Yeah, I hear ya. During the summer, all the motorcycle riders do that here, too. And they're revving the shit out of their engines as if it's doing something. I think a bunch of riders are in it purely for attention.

Good stuff!!! I hadn't thought of that.

When one of those damn "luxury" Roll-over Utility Vehilces gets behind me with their xenon lights 8 fee in the air, I've been known to need to clear the windshild on occation. (I'm not talking about BMW SAV's cuz at least they have self-leveling xenons.)

I hadn't thought to actually point one or two sprayers up and over the car. Hell yeah. Where did I put that needle I use to adjust!!!!

errr, no one signals in LA. If someone's actually signals before changing lanes in traffic, I usually let them in cuz it's so damn rare and it's a pet peeve of mine.

I don't mind that if they're careful about it. Least they're not driving gas guzzling SUVs. I usually move over to give em more room. I wish I were smart enough to have a motorcycle to get through LA traffic. I've just noticed that the 405 is a parking lot on Saturday and Sunday too now. [?|]

The reason motorcycles SHOULD ride off the center is becuase the center of the lane is where oil and stuff sits -- causing their tires to eventually and possibly become dangerously slippery. It's not bad, just stupid.

Biggest pet peeve is sitting at a red light and the first car in line does not move in a timely manner......its like "hello, anyone home" and they get through the light anyways, but no one else does.......second pet peeve is passive aggressive drivers........pretending or dont care that there are 100's of other drivers but you'll still just do what you've been doing...........like blocking lanes, being a pace car, not let you change lanes even when a blinker has notified them continuously and you try continuously to move over, but no they won't change their speed to get ahead of you or slow down to let you in.......dont you sometimes just want to stop traffic, get out of your car with a loud speaker and get everyone's attention and just say, "People, what are you thinking here?" [mad]

Amen!!!

A really BIG loudspeaker...

Dude, driving is not a joke. Shit like that can get you or someone else killed. You have no idea how dangerous the highways of the NYC area are because of stupid people who do stupid shit like that (except not as a joke).

I ride a Motorcycle as well. The reason they can travel between lanes is because they can overheat while standing in traffic for long periods. One of my peeves is when people open their car doors because they are mad at motorcyclists being able to move when they can't. Now that's dangerous!

1) Pace cars.
2) I’m in the right or middle lane, look to see that the car to my left is behind me enough for me to change lanes safely, turn on my signal and the moron decides to speed up and try not to let me in. Just makes for faster lane changes for me. [burnout]
