What is your biggest pet peeve while driving?

I'll start it out. I've never understood why some people, when its raining, get the bright idea to not only slow down and turn on their lights...but also their emergency blinkers! This is SO DAMN FREAKIN ANNOYING!!! When I see flashing double lights I assume the person is stalled in the middle of the highway, and I slam on the brakes.

Who ever got this thing going? Driving down the road with the rest of traffic but throwing on the emergency lights cuz it's raining? It's like pretend, play hazard? It's raining....like nobody else knows the roads might be slick? &@#%! That's hands down my number one pet peeve while driving.

Annoying ? How about driving slow in the left lane. If people understood the rule of driving like on the autobahn ( If you not going 160 mph, you better stay the %$#@ out of the passing lane. All us sport drivers could enjoy the roads better. If not anything, common sense and courtesy.

My biggest is people without the common sense to use the correct lane. When I drive home is always seems like people gravitate to the right lanes of the freeway. So what happens with four onramps within a few miles is that the entire right two lanes stop and make getting on difficult.

I just wish people had the common sense to go to the far left lanes in heavy merging traffic until it thins, this would help get people on more quickly and improve traffic flow.

I don’t have a lot of trouble with people in the left (fast) lane here because when I do most of my driving all the lanes are packed anyway.

My second complaint would be trucks in the left lane. They should NEVER be there.

Biggest pet peeve is sitting at a red light and the first car in line does not move in a timely manner......its like "hello, anyone home" and they get through the light anyways, but no one else does.......second pet peeve is passive aggressive drivers........pretending or dont care that there are 100's of other drivers but you'll still just do what you've been doing...........like blocking lanes, being a pace car, not let you change lanes even when a blinker has notified them continuously and you try continuously to move over, but no they won't change their speed to get ahead of you or slow down to let you in.......dont you sometimes just want to stop traffic, get out of your car with a loud speaker and get everyone's attention and just say, "People, what are you thinking here?" [mad]

lisha, which blinker are you to put on to let them know you want them to move? in europe, its the left one, signaling that you want to pass to the left of them and they have to move to the right for this to happen... but i dont know if anyone here understand that type of courtesy.

Wil, I experienced that type of driving in Brazil and also turning off the headlights if you got behind someone........it confused the hell out of me the whole time I was there......here, if I have the right blinker on, I'm moving right........and vice versa, if I have no blinker on, it means I'm going whether you like it or not and I"m asking you to choose whether you can afford the repairs.......if not, then move... [rofl]

xLibelle should know this one......two lanes of traffic in each direction on most autobahns. I hate when I am driving 120+mph and some idiot with a 32 hp opel or ford festiva pulls out in front of me with out a blinker going 60 mph and I have to layon my brakes like no ones business, then they try to pass 14 trucks...in a row.... can you say ROAD RAGE?

1. Cars that continuously drive slow in two lane traffic pacing cars next to them. When you try to get around them, they just speed up to block you off. I find that this is most common with the ricers in my area (that or they just anoy me more with the obnoxious exhaust).

2. People driving in the toll express lanes and wait until the very last moment to slam on their breaks to start trying to merge over to the manual lanes.

Driving like pace cars...that's a good way to describe it....or bottle necking. For some reason, some people like to get next to me on my left and just hang out in my blind spot for miles on end. This happens more at night, I think they like to join in on the xenon headlights. But what a terribly unsafe way to drive (to the left in someone's blind spot). If someone should have to swerve to avoid something, it's gonna get ugggglly and fast. I guess some people just have bird instincts...and want to flock together like migrating geese...SO DANGEROUS!

I ran across a moron in an MB 450SL this weekend in Indiana doing just that. He'd pass a truck and then pace it when he reached the front of the truck so no one else could get past. Then when the trucker saw what he was doing and slowed to allow folks to pass the idiot on the right, the idiot would speed up and race anyone trying to pass him to the next truck, where he'd pull the same stunt. He almost caused a few accidents. Some old lady in a big Olds was actually playing chicken with him. It was insane. [thumbd]

How about when you are merging onto a multiple lane road and the idiot in the right lane won't pull over and let you in. It seems like common courtesy. I can understand it when they have someone in the lane on their left but when the rad is clear it is inexcusable. Happened to me this morning. I was trying to merge onto the freeway at about 65mph and some old man in a piece of junk from the 70's was doing about 60mph (just in the right position so I couldn't get in front of him) and I had to hit the brakes.

My other is people driving toooooo fast. For example, the other day I was on the freeway doing 80mpg in the left lane (2 lane road). Traffic in the right lane was doing about 65 and the cars were kinda close together, leaving no room for me to merge. Some jerk (driving a bimmer I'm sad to say) came up behind me, flashing his high beams, and tailgated me. When I finally had room to merge he flew past me and gave me the finger. I was very happy to see him pulled over by the highway patrol a few miles down the road. People like that are why a lot of folks think BMW owners are assholes.

I hate to say it, but i actually do 2 things to piss people off. One is when a little old lady or old couple is driving slow on a two way road, i get in the other lane and match their speed so no one can get around. I find it funny, and glad im not the only one going slow

Second, i do let people get infront of me if they signal, but look at this senario. There is a 3 lane road. Im in the far left lane, and somones in the far right lane... When they try to get in the middle, i find it funny if i try to get in the middle at the same time, and then they get reallly scared and pull back in the right lane. HAHAHAHA kinda funny you should try it
