Well being the BMW enthusiast I am I enjoy talkign w/ anyone about BMW's and European cars. So today I was on a online game (RTCW) and I was talkign w/ this kid about ferraris and this kid age 15 I suppose was talking about how his dad was gonna give him his M5 and he was gonna own everyone. So I said the M5 doesnt own the Ferrari and he just wouldnt stop so in the end to make it short I just think there should be a website that says if your dad owns a BMW and you dont it means your ridding behind daddies ass on your cheap bike and maybe you should learn more than to say BMW's have engines made by Audi. Thats all I had to say and he was a ricer 2. [thumb]

brutal, my friend. mind you i'm somewhat anti-rice, but you gotta be realistic. if his dad gave him a bimmer, then two things are true. 1) hes a spoiled little [swear word here]. 2) he WOULD own everyone. realistically. who pulls up to a stoplight wanting to race and has a ferrari pull up next to them? seriously. ya, ok, a ferrari would rape an M5-fine. but as much as we all hate it, reality DOES exist! he'll own anyone on the road, within reason. i guess i'm just saying that the kid (and everybody else) would never expect to be confronted with a ferrari. i've seen about 3 in my life, let alone one next to me. sure he's a ricer, but ease up [:D] did he say he was gonna put some big noisey exhaust on the M5 he's inheriting, btw[rofl]

Lmao, Phatbimmer. (to everybody else, that guy was me)
Well, the half you wrote there is bullshit my friend. You didn't even write the word Ferrari in that game so how could I have been able to say a BMW M5 is faster than a Ferrari? (whatever what model, or engine). Although I got the feeling the new M5 which will be released in the fall this year (In Europe) will kick some serious ass. 100 of extra hp's and a shitload of extra torque will make the car become very close to a Ferrari 360 Modena (There is the Ferrari you talked about as you said in your post). The current BMW M5 does 0-100 (Km/h) in like 5,3 secs and im Pretty sure the new one will become very close to that 0-100 (Km/h) in 4,5 from the Modena. [rolleyes]
So, even when I SHOULD HAVE said that, my opinion wouldn't be THAT bad. (When I should have said)
About the rest of your post. If you become something, it's yours right? I can't make that up out of your post. You keep talking about that M5 being my dads car. It's still his but around May or June it's mine, because he's gonna buy some other BMW (prolly a 645i)

@ Phatbimmer. Whatever you say, wether you call me a sissy or a cheap ass bitch, i don't really care man.

Oh, btw, here you got 2 pics of that car.

To all the other forumvisiters... It's cool to see you Americans loving European cars. You know, I really thought the community of BMW lovers was very, very small there, but I see there are a lot of BMW drivers and lovers. Keep up the good work![thumb]

Well, this was my first and last post here. It's way to hard for me to type English, hehe. Probably you can't even read one word of this post, so I'm sorry for that! [rolleyes]

Since when will an M5 be raped by a Ferrari? The 360 Modena and Spider do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds....the M5 matches that 0-60 exactly. The 456M and 550/575 Maranello are a different story, however. Either way, the M5 is a sick car and I don't think it's bad that it's his dad's car. It is probably the most economical thing to do...dad has a car, and his son is getting his license and needs a car...dad hands down his car to his son and gets himself a new car. But in the son's case, the hand-me-down is an M5. [headbang]
When I got my license, my dad did this same thing for me, except the car was a 99 MB ML430...certainly not an M5, but I had no complaints. When I was in high school in 12th grade, a lot of the seniors had nice cars... Range Rovers, X5's, 3-series', ML's, CLK430, etc....we had some crappy cars too, obviously, but I don't think anybody in our senior class who had a car actually paid for it him/her-self.

Rovers, X5's, ML & CLK's?! What kind of high school did you go to?! New Jersey 90210?! My school lot was filled with 84 Buick Lesabres, 78 Dodge Diplomats, Escorts, Taurus', and other sub 20k cars (WAY below 20k). But we still loved our cars and the new-found freedom they came with.

I live in Northern NJ and I went to a private high school about 15-20 minutes away from me. Key word being "private"... any car below $30,000 was (and still is, at that school) considered to be a piece of shit or just does not deserve any attention.

All VW's, mostly 94's and older, TRY TO RACE ME. I'm not wasting the gas to beat them, unless i see a lot of smoke from their tailpipe, i dont want to smell that $hit.

Yeah, seriously...if you're looking for a cute girl driving her car around, just checkout all the late-model VW Jetta's and Audi A4's.

I got handed down a Jeep Cherokee from my mom in high school. Piece of crap, but with the 4.0L inline 6, I had those rice rockets for lunch. Think about it, a 1.6L Civic vs. a 4.0L Jeep about the same size as that Civic. No contest, even if it is a stick, how many high schoolers know how to drive a stick properly?

@ elussive u mention 0-60 numbers, but nowadays with high HP that's just silly
to even publish/look at those numbers. 0-60 in such a fast car goes by in a blink
and in reality they'd be racing to 100mph of course there the ferrari would beat the bm

Elussive - Huh.. I went to a private school and we still all had POS cars. I should have lived on the east coast! Damn Midwest private schools...

Here around Detroit (the fatest city) it's total hit and miss with hotties behind the wheel. I always check to see if the driver side is lower than the passenger side before considering taking a peek. [hihi]

just me ;)[thumb] no, there's a handful of us that autocross and race and actually know how to drive. but less than 1% of the overall teens would be my estimate. you gotta love that stalled rice rocket cuz he forgot to take his 5h!t out of 3rd gear. or that grinding sound when they pull the clutch too soon. that'll kill a race =)

Geez, you're all lucky(young folks), to even *have* a car in high school. When I was young, (I promise it wasn't *that* long ago)it was a big deal to have your own car of any sort.. And it *used* to mean that you were working or providing for family that you needed a car in the first place.. Not that you just got the parents hand-me-down so they can go buy the sports car of their 2nd childhood..

I had my *mom* wreck my first car of all things(sweet little 81 civic), as I was doing the above (IE: working). Got a POS Mustang hatchback that was running on 3 of 4 cylinders.. All that while earning it, not waiting for a handout or for insurance to replace my *luxury* ride (Although the seats were comfy in the hatchback).. [:)]

My kids are gonna hate me, they sure aren't getting any hand-me-down cars, they're gonna work for em and buy em. (Ya know, EARN it)

And no I'm not 'hating' on you youngin's with bimmers, but you should show more humility and respect for people that actually bought their own (or bought any car for that matter), or the fact that *you* didn't. Enjoy your car, don't rub it in that mommy or daddy handed you the keys to a sports sedan.. And shut your piehole about where it came from in the first place, if you're not sharing a cool pickup story from Europe or from the factory or testing grounds here in the states, then just get over it..

Kids like this get dildo's and banana's in their exhaust (Do a search here if you're clueless about this one).. [:D]

well remember that i went to high school with most of the what we call "jetta b*tches." so i know with one look whether they're decent. and don't say things like "they get out and go to burger king." it's phrases like that which make my girlfriends eat salads instead of some actual protein. sure, it's cheaper but it's embarrasing to say "i'll have the 4 lb steak, and the lady will have my side salad." don't get me wrong, i'm all for sexism[rofl] i just like my women to weigh over 80. anorexia is caused by phrases like that and the media...i also don't watch TV for similiar reasons.

i couldn't agree with you more...almost. the one thing i find to be false is that your children WILL NOT hate you for making them work. i worked for mine. i worked 10 months of hard, physical labor. a side issue is that i can't lift anything without a back brace or extreme pain. but that's life. make them work, they'll appreciate and respect their vehicle much more. encourage them to buy an older car. my 325 as proven over and over that just because it's old doesn't mean it doesn't kick ass. my friend just bought a brand new toyota celica gt-s. dropped 20 some thousand, i believe. smoked him. another friend dropped 16 k for a used subaru 2.5 RS AWD smoked him too. old cars rule and for 3 k you can get a bimmer [thumb]
