Why are you carrying a BMC CCA card if you don't even own a BMW? I don't see why I can't have one, I don't have a BMW. You need to settle down man you take others comments so seriously BMW 325i 7803 was just trying to get a convo going, :p

Blabajaba
The only person trying to create a problem over this thread is you. Everyone else is over it.

You are welcome to join the BMW CCA. I am a member because I love the Marque, am a former and future owner, participate in a number of BMW CCA events, and enjoy the company of my fellow club members.

We have exchanged words before, and based on that history I don't know why you would question me again.

Do you really need me to demonstrate my BMW knowledge or to have more people stick up for me on this site? I don't think so.

Roundel is the BMW CCA magazine. The only way to get Roundel is to join BMW CCA. BMW CCA does not require a VIN# or BMW ownership. In fact, they have a large continent of non-owner members whom they welcome to their ranks.

You can tell me to calm down all you want, but nobody is yelling or causing trouble here but you. You can pretend to be the innocent all you want, but nobody is buying it.

I really think the Acura TL is a great car, but the FWD just feels like the biggest mistake EVER. It is like I see the Acura TL as SUCH a well-rounded car and such a great sport sedan, but then the FWD just ruins the whole thing. It was fine on my Jetta, but on a 270hp sport sedan?? What was Acura thinking?? I guess most (and the average) consumers feel like they are just better off year-round with a FWD car and all-season tires.

I have two problems with Consumer Reports:
1.) They're not auto enthusiasts so I don't think they have any idea of how to truly review cars.
2.) They don't really seem to know anything when it comes to cars. They say stupid things and I don't think they know how to drive very well (they constantly used to post 0-60 scores that were at 1 second or more slower than all other scores available for a particular vehicle). If they can't drive the car to do the 0-60 time that even the auto manufacturers claim, they simply shouldn't be reviewing cars....they're supposed to be the experts.

The thing that bugs me the most about Consumer Reports is their "holier than thou" attitude. They preach about how they fair, impartial, unbiased, etc. and use that as their Holy Grail.

They brag about their independent, scientific test laboratories. BUT their sampling is TOTALLY statistically flawed. I mentioned the flaw in their annual report. Their "Purchase ONE & Evaluate" is totally statistically flawed. ONE CAR MODEL = ONE SAMPLE (or freezer, TV, CD player, bread maker, etc). This is by definition an unreliable sampling, yet they publish their results to millions of consumers with the "Holier than thou" attitude and can MAKE OR BREAK a product's success. That is just wrong.

Note that I am criticizing the organization and methods, this has NOTHING to do with BMW bias. For reference consider the following:

jrt67ss350 points out exactly what I was getting at when I posted crash tests results. In my opinion, if CR was doing proper justice and totally unbiased reviews, this should have been at least mentioned as safety shortcomings. Remember, this is interpreted as TEN BEST by the average consumer, but isn't safety something that should be factored also when talking about BEST? This should really be advertised as TEN MOST RELIABLE just like JD Powers says it.
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Of 14 small cars involved in a test of side-impact crash safety, 12 received a rating of "Poor" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Because of these results, Consumer Reports announced Sunday night that it was removing the Ford Focus as its pick as the best small car for 2005.
