Yes she did. Post 32. Very proud of her. It's a good start to learning her car and enjoying it without being held hostage by a mechanic. Plus, she was thick skinned and kind enough to return and post how she did it for the benefit of others. Thank you katsbimmer

And yes, we let lots of newbie activity slide. Most forums aren't very newbie friendly. I hold the view that if you're too harsh on newbies, you kill off potential fans of the brand. The mods here don't like to be nazi's in terms of banning. It's gotta be obvious SPAMming some commercial product or something like that. Posting a question asking for help in 2 forums isn't gonna result in an immediate ban. For many people, this is their first luxury car and it can be unnerving to be working on a $40K car and it's accompanying reputation.

BMW's and their owners have a bad enough reputation as it is. If you want to be elitist and brag about your skills with a wrench while bashing any new owner to come along, this is NOT the forum to do it in. Our new members are actually quite well behaved and not very trollish, compared to other sites I'm on. As such, it helps lend to the newbie friendly and helpful personality I feel this board has.
Very well said indeed.. [:o]

Well Marc.. My original statement wasn't actually this one. The original is located in the first thread by katsbimmer in the E90 section which had no flaming what so ever from me. I think that one holds way more water then this one. But yeah, I know what your sayin about the rest..
I stand corrected sir....your first post WAS informative AND along the lines of what i thought you should write....BUT your second post was uneccesary but i think you "maybe" realize it was a little bit brash.......i think it would have been better if you had reported it to a mod if you felt it was post-whoring or whatever.....anyway....what year is that maxima anyway?

Yeah, I agree. The second post was a bit out there.. [rolleyes] Don't think I'll be pullin that one again. Guess I was just havin a bad day [8]

Heh, the Maxima? It's a 92'SE 5spd with the 24vDOHC. I don't think you guys ever got that one in Europe. I had the 12vSOHC auto version of it(GXE) before this, but when I heard what the SE packed, I just had to pick one up. Im more then satisfied with the performance [wiggle]

That 5 isn't lookin too shabby either. Got quite a system back there [;)]

Funny thing is, the one flexing their wrenching ability has never wrenched on a bmw

I think he meant Katsbimmer. You need to take a step back and breathe. Relax. Chill. Take a Lamaze class possibly. [:p]
No I definitely ment the ricer dude. I don't have a problem with the original poster.

Wow, a windshield?!?! Damn, I can't beat that! I mean that repair is so different between cars.

Ricer dude? I hope you don't mean me.. Cause that wouldn't really make much sense. [screwy]

And thats a smooth comeback about the windshield, but too bad it shows you've never done one. Try one on a Merc. You'll give up before you get to the windshield part.

Anyway, because Big Daddy was nice enough to let this go on for as long as it did, I will unfortunatly have to stop to show my appreciation. If you want, your PM's are always welcome. [rolleyes]
