I thought at first this would be horrible for both British brands, but after reading an in-depth article in the Los Angeles Times about the Tata family, and their companies...I think it will be very good for Jaguar and Land Rover. India (due to it's colonization) is very "British", and the Tata group has already stated they are not planning any layoffs, and plan to let both companies stay 100% British, as that is their heritage and selling point.
Yes, Land Rover has horrible reliability....but Jaguar routinely scores higher that both BMW and Mercedes in Luxury car reliability, customer satisifaction and total ownership costs.
The Tata group knows a helluva lot more about British cars and British sensibility than Ford!!!
