Mannheim, Germany
Mannheim has been around since at least 766 a.d.

Of even more interest is this little trivia: "Karl Benz invented and drove the world's first car in Mannheim in 1885. He was granted a patent for that first automobile in January of the next year. Earlier still in 1817, Karl Drais invented and rode the first two-wheeled contraption called Laufmaschine or velocipede—the very start of horseless personal transport."

Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA.

Winston Salem is the home of RJ Reynolds tobacco company - hence the names of the Winston and Salem brand name cigarettes.

One of the things Winston Salem is known for is the RJ Reynolds headquarters building in the W-S downtown. This building was the basis for the architectural design of the Empire State Building in NY.

One of the other things the town is known for is Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. This is the home of Wake Forest Medical School (formerly known as Bowman Gray Medical School), where I am a 4th year medical student. This is a 981 bed hospital that serves as the primary hospital for a 26 county region as well as a MAJOR referral and trauma center for the entire southeast.

George washington (yes, the first president) lived in my town for a bit, and the moravian church was used as a hospital IIRC that he visited during the war. My town has more history than farms, and we have a lot of farms.

Bamberg/ Wiesbaden Germany.

I will post pics when i can
I will help you with that one!

Wiesbaden-biebrich Schloss(castle/palace). This baroque building was erected in the first half of the 18th century by Duke Wilhelm of Nassau.

Bamberg Cathedral

The cathedral is a late Romanesque building with four imposing towers. It was founded in 1004 by the emperor Henry II, finished in 1012 and consecrated on May 6, 1012. It was later partially destroyed by fire in 1081. The new cathedral, built by St. Otto of Bamberg, was consecrated in 1111, and in the 13th century received its present late-Romanesque form.
