Where do you people come from where people drive under the speed limit? In Knoxville, it's genereally accepted that the "speed limit" is the number on the sign, plus 10. And pretty much every where else I've driven, if you're not going around 5 over, you're slow. Overtaking happens way above the speed limit because everyone except great-grandma is doing 5 over to begin with.
Good call, same thing here in jersey, except people are MAD impatient with 25 zones. The average is to go 5 or more over, but 25 zones, people acceptably go 40. I chill at 30 and I swear they want to push a button to launch a rocket at my car if their vehicle was so equipped (hopefully James Bond isn't running around Bergen County, NJ).

Cell phones... I know I'm guilty of it time to time, but honestly, WAY too many people pay more attention to their conversations than their task at hand.
Bluetooth all the way so both hands are free for other things....and sometimes they even grip the steering wheel....... [clap] [clap]

My pet peeves, people pulling out of a parking lot or some type of location close to a red light or an off ramp when I am coming off of the ramp and I have the right of way to get in the right hand lane. People get creamed for this type of behavior.

People who do not come to a complete stop at a stop sign and people who do not take turns at stop signs.

People who back out of a parking space without looking, just assuming you'll slam on your brakes and avoid the accident, by golly they want to beat you getting out of that spot.

People who throw out trash from their car.

And the worst of all..........people who haul stuff in their pickup truck and it is not tied down securely and could come flying out at any moment; I've had bbq grills, mattresses, plastic chairs, branches, wheel barrel, etc. You don't even have to be behind them, the wind will carry their crap over many lanes.

I have to say, having Bluetooth in my car now is a dream for driving manual and the Bluetooth lady talks so nicely to me.

Except of course when I hit the voice-dialing button on the steering wheel and say "Call Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mobile", then the Bluetooth lady responds "Keep dreaming, tough guy." [:(]

Over here in Germany you are supposed to get over also but if you dont get up on the tail of the person in front of you they assume you are going their speed and will not get over until ready too...get in their tail and the attitude is: "oh he must want to pass me" and usually they will get over with no problem and you can keep on going.......just a different attitude...and most of the time slower cars will NOT hog the left lane....
Dude truer words were never spoken. Over here tailgating is illegal, as it is in most places, but if you are going a high rate of speed in the left lane, the car in front will not move over until you are 2-3 car lengths away from them, then you get a ticket for tailgating......stuff chaps my ass

I'll tell you what's REALLY annoying. You come to an intersection and there is a left turn lane and a right turn lane. While you're waiting for a break in traffic to turn left in the left turn lane, someone pulls up next to you in the right turn lane and then turns LEFT in front of you! GRRRR!

As far as slow cars driving in the passing (left) lane, they're just ignorant idiots. I don't even wait for them to move. I just pass them on the right without hesitation.
Passing here on the right will get you a 50 euro fine and 3 points off your licence, just by someone calling it in.

one thing that totally drives me crazy is when someone pulls out in front of you and then drives under the speed limit. It is usually a blue hair.

I was driving up I-5 from Cali to Seattle. There was a old man in a small suv in the left lane. At about 50yrds i flashed my high beam so he would know that i wanted to pass. as soon as i start to pass this guy he flippes my off. WTF he's driving in the fast lane and the right is clear. I will always drive in the right lane except to pass. we need to adopt germanys additude of driving witch is DRIVE RIGHT

Lack of turn signals is one of the most annoying.

Holding up fast lane traffic is also a pain. There have been recent stories about unmanned speed traps with radar and driver/license plate photos being used in construction zones in Illinois and elsewhere. I hope this idea/technology doesn't become so cheap (although at any price it seems to pay for itself--the number of tickets they give is unbelievable) that it appears at every other overpass or something. It will be the end of speeding; I assume the courts are okay with it.
Here's a link to the Chicago Tribune stories:

Story 2

As for cell phones, holding one should be banned while driving. At least if you take a sip of coffee/whatever you can do it when it's "safe". I've seen people who can't make a turn because they're holding a phone. I've had some close calls on the highway (getting cut-off) where I was extremely glad I had 2 hands on the wheel. Chicago has banned holding cell phones--ha ha--like they enforce it. BTW, a guy ran over and killed a little girl by rolling thru a stop sign by the Lincoln Park Zoo last week and left the scene; he was caught and identified. I heard they're looking into his cell phone records to see if he was on the phone.
