They should, because unlike just being partners (as engine suppliers) to Williams, they've bought the whole Sauber operation themselves and run the thing according to how they want.

I wouldn't exactly get my hopes up as to their success... but I don't think they'll do horrible. They had one of the top two V10's, and I can't imagine their V8 will be rated behind anyone but ferrari or honda.

But last year's was a dog. It's widely known that BMW didn't put any effort into the partnership through 2005 and that's why they suffered reliability problems and had such crappy top-speeds. Even Mark Webber had a crack at them about it toward the end of the season!
