There's a difference between modifying and ricing. I'm convinced that the only thing you have to do to make a BMW rape pretty much anything, and I mean anything, is turbocharge it. I've seen videos of turbocharged E36 M3's racing Porsche 911 Turbos, Ferrari Modenas, and Lamborghini Diablos. The M3 didn't demolish them or anything, but the fact of the matter is it won, and lived to tell the story.

I really doubt the m3 was racing, it looked as if it just started out normally, while the guy in that (shitty) japanese car launched, and the sad thing is that his engine blew..

The way I see it is that those "ricers" (god help us) just wanted to probably post that video of him beating an M3 to feel cool. I agree w/ some of the guys who stated some facts of M3's not being for straight line racing, (again i could be wrong since I'm a BMW noob) but what made me mad was that the driver makes it look like he is ULTIMATE TUNER of his car [:(!]

Thats typical of most ricers, infact this kid I know from school just fixed his really junked up messed up 97' Acura LS (I think thats what it is, BY FIX I mean he just put a new bumper and new headlights and just did what the state of IL demanded he do to make it atleast drivable) but he took it to school and its a 4 banger and It has no mods what so ever (thank God) and revs his engine up and just drives away and thinks his car is cool because it has those neons that flashes along w/ the bass (you can get those at WAL-MART) pretty gay crap I think and he has 1 12' Diamond Sub in his back which he states runs on 1K watts. I looked his model up and it does 800w. He also states his car does 230hp w/ no mods when in fact that morning he couldn't tell me anything about his engine ( i mean anything!) oh and he thinks its special because its DOHC lmao! and states he knows how to DOUBLE SHIFT (dont know wtf that is but I'm sure 2 days into driving you dont learn that!) In the end "ricers" are the stupidest people I have ever met! maybe just maybe there are like 2 out of 100000. Like I said movies like 2Fast2Furious make ricers feel good about themselves. 1 thing is to have an experienced stunt driver do the stunts in that movie and have prof. people fix up the cars, but 2 think your THE ULTIMATE TUNER! just is pretty sad. I say they learn to drive and park before they can do anything else [thumb]

Oh and double-clutching is what they had to do with cars back in the old days. Since gearboxes weren't synchronized you had to press the clutch twice while you were in neutral in order to align the gears. Some people still do it today for the hell of it. The kid you're talking about is obviously living the 2F2F dream. That movie was made for ricers who know nothing about cars, in the movie big terms that don't even exist are used in order to make it sound advanced and high-tech.

Yep, he thinks hes all that ( I forgot to mention my other bestfriend whos under the illusion of 2F2F movie) He's already gotten into 1 minor minor accident that the guy let pass w/ no probs. but man. All I enjoy is these Muscle Finatics make fun of him lol. 200Hp on a stock V4? no way I just saw something on some website that said 140hp [:p]

No, double clutching is completely unnecessary in a street car and will really slow you down unless you are damn good at it. Just like Dinan said, you used to have to double clutch to synchronize the gears when shifting so they didn't grind. But, synchronized gearboxes take care of this task for you. Manual transmissions have had automatic synchronizers since the '50s. Nowadays, only ultra high performance transmissions are not synchronized. Any street car, especially some Acura, is going to have a synchronized gearbox.

I'm so glad I graduated from high school when I did (1999). I beat the ricerocket phase before it hit my high school hard. I went to a high school where some of the richest kids in my hometown attend - the typical vehicles that kids drove were new BMWs (several Z3s and 3 series), new Explorers, new Camaros, etc. I definitely had the oldest car there (my Camaro), but no one ever really messed with me - most of the kids that actually cared about cars had a pretty immense amount of respect for my car. People only ever requested burnouts - no one every really tried to get me to race them. The year after I graduated, one of the sophomores got the first E46 M3 convertible that came to Greenville. I remember being in awe over that car - first E46 M3 I had seen and it was Laguna Seca blue. He tore the crap out of that car - had no respect whatsoever for it.

High school memories - I'll never forget the night I was helping set up for homecoming and I raced my Camaro around the track that goes around the football field - that was great! [fake]

Dont know why you people think an eclipse couldnt beat an M3. My friend put about 4,000 dollar into his 92 eclipse turbo awd (including cost of the car and complete engine rebuild) and that thing could slaughter an M3. The part that gets to me is their ignorance, and the fact that if I were driving an e46 m3 and got beat by an old eclipse...I would go home and still stare at my car for 10 minutes.

I am not dissing those guys I jus think that BMW fanatics are dif. from other car fanatics. Were a totally dif. breed (I think DINAN from DINAN motors or that guy that fixes up cars said this in his webpage) and to have others belive that they know everything is just pretty much madening and if thats not enough it makes you feel bad for em lol. I Do. In any case I totally agree with you, I would anyday even if I got beat in a race I would still go home and love my Bimmer, the only reason I don't have one now is because I don't have the money to afford one if not I'd be driving since day 1 [:p]

Ok, so its not just the money, I'm willing pretty much to buy any BMW at this time but really money does do the talking and selling the old Blazer would add some green but in the end I wouldnt have enough for what I've really wanted to buy, the new 330i w/ Performance Package [:D]

yeah shes nice, I've gone to the dealer atleast 4x here in Schaumburg, IL and the guy Patrick (owner) has spoken to me just to tell me that Test Driving is limited (I never saw were it said limit 4x per person or less) they just don't understand [?|]

LMAO!. All in all you guys are right I should sell my Blazer and buy some BMW and build up from there, sad thing is my Econ. teacher was right lol! [:p]

Oh and I'm a Senior this year 18yrs old if I didnt mention b4. Well I'm off to look at cars and see if I can find a BMW under 8k lol [xx(]
