Motor Trend snippets on the CTS-v, which has an LS6 NA V8 with 400 hp 395 ft-lb:

0-60 = 4.7 sec; 1/4 mile = 13.1 sec 110 mph
.92 G cornering (Kirby sez - holy crap! a Caddy!?!?!?)

"Whoever designed that chassis really knows what the hell they're doing"
"few sports sedans - or sports cars, for that matter - are so beautifully balanced and neutral"
"Figure 8 performance less than 1/2 second behind the $190,000 Lambo Gallardo"
"a sexy, luxurious 4 door that will run with AMGs and M5s (and ocasionally taunt a 911) for tens of thousands less"

Now stop and ask yourself, when did Motor Trend EVER say that about a Cadillac before, or any other GM product besides a 'vette?

i am amazed by the arms race of the current car companies. i'm glad caddy is finally in the mix. my parents leased the last gen STS, with sweet 300hp northstar engine, which was all but sapped by the FWD setup. engine loved to sing, but the torque steer killed much of the fun. it was also held in low regard compared to German counterparts.

now i'm not too hot about the styling, but it's cool that the company is breaking out, putting out outstanding products, with style (whether you like it or not) much better than sitting on ones butt, watching marketshare jumping across the pond, both ways..

wonder if i'd try to save $10-15k and opt out of getting the M5 for the sake of STS-V? guess we'll see when i have enough loot... years from now.. ...

anyway, how long before some idiot starts saying "MT is on Caddy's payroll!!"?

Jae, don't lie dude. You know you'd love to roll around in a STS-V, smokin a blunt, and pickin up chicks. The inner gangster in you is calling you out....what's it gonna be??
