Personally I think owners of BMW, Mercedes and Audi have a tighter base of repeat customers contray to biased reports (AKA CR), than pretty much any brand out there.
I think you're right though I think an even stronger 'return customer base' would be the likes of toyota and honda. They really take care of their customers, and for the average consumer they know how to keep them. (read: one who doesnt buy a car because it can take turns fast [wiggle])

But as of now I see myself owning at least A bmw for the rest of my life, unless they do something too drastic. Maybe it wouldnt be my daily driver but I will own one none-the-less.

Did you know the F150 is the best selling vehicle ever?
It's actually not the F150 that is the best selling vehicle ever - it's the Ford F-series (a more general designation). You have to take into account the older F-series trucks that were pre-F150 as well as the F250, F350, F550, etc in order for the claim that the F-series is the best selling vehicle ever claim to be valid. One of the reasons the F-series is the best selling vehicle ever is that it is/has always been a HUGE product line.

I think I've yet to see a Pontiac G6 in California. Not many people here buy American just cuz it's American. Some of it's cuz we know that these "American" companies don't build their cars in America, and even if they do, the imports do as well so might as well buy the better car. I like the Challenger, but I'm not too impressed by the Camaro's design. Sad, but GM just doesn't seem to get it.

Their only saving grace is that they can build a good full size truck/suv. The imports can't. That's pretty much Ford's problem right now too. The only competition for the F-series of trucks is the GM ones. That plus the Exploder are the only thing keeping that company alive. But, I at least have more confidence that they'll be able to fix their car division than GM. Mustang's a hit and while not a home run like they hoped, the Fusion and it's sisters are a good step in teh right direction.

Motor Trend gave Honda Truck of the Year, so at least they think Japan can build a good truck. Personally, I know nothing of the Honda trucks, but I would/will buy another GMC truck when the Suburban gets too tired, never a Honda.

To me, it's Un-American to drive a truck that's not American. Really--what is America if you take away the pick-up truck? Nowhere I'd like to be, that's for sure.

Support our troops; boycot Japanese trucks.

Woooo! God bless Amur'ca!

I agree - and honestly my dad's '03 GMC Sierra is pretty damn nice, especially compared to other domestics as of late.

The '05 and later cars have much improved brakes - I have driven one and can testify first-hand. They now come from the factory with PBR brake equipment.
Good, because the first run had a longer stopping distance than a 300 pound heavier E34. [rolleyes]
