I saw this and thought it was about time...

copied from Dinancars

…supercharger systems for the E46 M3 will soon be available at an Authorized Dinan BMW Performance Center near you!

As interest in our supercharger programs for the M3 is obviously quite keen, we thought we would share some photos of the cars under development. While we can’t yet offer definitive availability dates as our engineers continue to “tune and tweak” for the best possible performance and reliability, perhaps we can at least wet the appetites of serious driving enthusiasts everywhere.

We have plans for two Dinan Supercharger Systems. One program will be the traditional “bolt on” approach and the other will include even more boost and a large air to air intercooler. While tuning of these systems continues, for now let it suffice to say that the systems are currently producing about 420 hp and 475 hp respectively. These are by no means intended to represent the final numbers but this will at least give prospective buyers a sense of the enormous power that will be available from the Dinan systems. And, of course, the systems will be backed by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry!

Stay tuned for more information!

Despite any rumors you may have heard to the contrary, there really is a blown M5 in the works at Dinan. As with the M3, the development process continues and while we are all anxious for this 600-ish horsepower [ohcrap] monster to be released, Mr. Dinan won’t accept anything less than near perfection. No surprise there. Trust us, your patience will pay off as this car is simply amazing and it just keeps getting better! Once again, specific release dates, pricing and final horsepower and torque numbers are not yet available but we will keep you updated as information becomes available.

YEEE HAH! [burnout]

I need one of those BEFORE my free maint plan runs out. I could see going through a couple clutches, rear-ends, etc. with that thing [hihi]

Wow. I never hated Dinan, just always thought it was way overpriced. See no reason to pay Dinan prices for their suspension or cosmetic stuff.

But, if they'll give a warranty on a supercharged engine, that might be worth the premium.

Yeah, I completely agree. I don't think anybody actually dislikes what they have to offer, they just charge a lot for it.

Dinan superchargers are also traditionally known to be extremely reliable so that would be pretty cool for them to offer a "safe" supercharger for the M3 engine.

Very cool but the cut through the radiator support on the intercooled version is kinda scary! I hope they figure out a way to maintain that structure along with the intercooler.
I keep looking at the pictures but I don't even know what to look for. Help me out, please? I'm curious.

I was in the same boat. Drive both the same day and if money isn't a big factor, your choice should be easy [bmwdance]

I was wandering the same thing - but the folks at dinan take some of the most engineered engines in the world and make them more powerful....

I wouldn't question anything they do.
