Hey,

So I am planning on ordering a new car no later by the end of the summer, probably at the end of this month. It is among the following the cars:

BMW Z4 3.0si Roadster 6MT (really great lease rates right now).
BMW Z4 M Roadster 6MT (pricey, but it's an ///M).
BMW X3 3.0si 6AT (jack of all trades, master of none).
BMW 335xi Sedan 6MT (nice all-weather sports sedan, but high lease rates).
MB ML320 CDI 6AT (nice all-weather car, will last a long time).
MB SLK350 6MT (MB's balloon loan makes this expensive car easy to afford).
Ford Mustang GT Convertible (very affordable, will look good for years to come).

Any of the following cars will be leased and/or financed depending on current lease and finance rates, as well as my budget. For the most part, I can afford all of these cars fully loaded.

Thanks,

You should go with z4 m or 335xi, the 335xi would be the most practical yet fun to drive.

I have driven several Mustangs as rentals. Not GTs, but it's the same basic car. I don't think you would be happy with either the handling or fit & finish. Out of your list and thinking about your posts and preferences over the years, I'd suggest either the M Roadster or the 335.

My input is:

Drop both the MB, Drop the X3, and Drop the what you call it...oh, Mustang.

Get the Z4M Roadster...or Coupe!
Did you consider the 335i?

since i can't see you hopping curbs with SUVs, well at least not with a story, i'd cross those out. [:p]

i think the question you really want to ask is: Look, i want this M roadster, is it worth it? and since we are on that topic, that 335i w/ bi turbo looks mighty tempting too.

i'm thinking outside the box, since it's not my money: get the 335i convertible (it's like 3 grand cheaper than the m roadster (base price wise anyway..) [:p]

mmm.... your list IS all over the place... (u forgot to include a mini-van and a truck to complete the list- hahahahaha.)

well, since money isn't an issue, decide (1) why u "need" a new car and (2) "what" u need it for.

if u need a family vehicle- go with a 4-door sedan or an SUV. if it's a second or weekend "fun" car, go test driving and see which one makes ur heart pump the most. when i was shopping, i was adding a weekend fun car and narrowed my list down to the z4 and mazda rx-8. after i test drove the 8 i never even gave the z4 a second thought. the 10K price difference was icing on the cake. :)

happy shopping.

Even though you've included 2 SUV's..err 1 SAV and 1 SUV..it seems the "open air" is the most common trend. If you'll agree thats true then I'd day focus on the Z4s, the SLK and maybe a 335i convertible.

If you don't need something at all practical or comfortable through traffic and over long distances, then look no further than the Z's. If you can afford the M, obviously go with that; otherwise the 3.0si is still a great little car.

Every time I drive one it leaves a smile on my face. Practicality be damned, that car is just too much fun.

I'm gonna hit up the BMW dealership this Friday and get the G appraised and hopefully come to an agreement regarding the Z4 or whatever the hell BMW I decide on.

Looks interesting, but it doesn't bother me. I'm only getting the Z4 because the lease rates are so darn low right now. I can get a $52K Z4 for $550/month without taxes, according to the BMWUSA website.

Hey hey hey.......... watcha yo mouf. The GT is a COMPLETELY different animal than the Pony car V6. Your comparison is like a 318i VS an M3. I still don't know why Ford even makes a V6 Mustang. Chevy doesn't make a V6 corvette.

Emile, I missed the thread and/or post(s) as to why you placed the G35C 6MT into storage in the first place. Why did you do it or have to do it? In any case, congrats on having your curb feeler (sorry, couldn't resist [;)] ) back. Happy motoring.....

You know I still love ya. Just have to rib you a bit.....

cuz I was drunk and coked out and I crashed it. I'm not allowed to drink or do drugs anymore, I've been sober for several months now and I got my car back under the condition that I continue being sober and continue working.
