Sock used for a oil cap, sock in engine!!!

I don't feel sorry for the idiot. Anyone with half a brain or at the very least common sense would know you never stick a sock in or near any part of the engine bay. If you loose the oil cap replace the damn thing. He should have also been worried about where the damn cap fell as well. This was truly a dumb move that will cost him a small fortune….
It would not surprise me. What would be wholly ironic is if he was into engineering or something along those lines. Now that would be funny.
It's probably just someone who is young, and like stated above, thinks socks are good for EVERYTHING.
Still you got to wonder, off all the things that are lying around the average house, or even in the average persons car, a sock? Come on!

Well well I looked at all replies and some of them are funny and some stink but please can we not give the guy some advise.
I would say take of the valve cover and try to take the pieces of sock out carefully, hopefully there is not damage to the cam and followers.
Guy the fellow is not the smartest light on the Xmas tree but he did ask for advice and I did not see any and is this forum not for helping this poor guy?
