shaving cream (i think) on car

#1
this morning when i walked out to drive to work .. i see that someone's play a little prank by spraying shaving cream (or some kind of cream) all over my cars windshield/top/side ... etc.

Now i'm a chill guy and not the type to start up stuff with other people unless they do it to me so no its not any revenge kind of thing. At first I figure its a prank ... no biggie .. clean it up and it'll be all good .... took it to the carwash ... everything all good except for the areas on the glass. Took it to the dealership and they can't figure it out ... anyone have any good ideas to clean the stuff on the windshield? Probably dried a bit overnight ... know any good solutions without damage to the glass? Cuz the dealership don't know what to do .... and they want me to go back in tomorrow when they get a window guy to come out to see. (see if it has eaten into the glass or simply just need some really careful scrubbin). Any good tips/suggestions would be helpful!!

If i have to change new windshield ... (i have an idea whom it might be) ... that kid is going down. Now I just graduated and brought my own first car and lets just say there will be 'hell' to pay!

thanks

Tom

Sucks, try cleaning it off with a razor blade. Basically hold the blade at an angle and scrape off the residue.

yeah, get an amonia/water solution, soak the window, and use the razor blade to swipe the entire window. then go get some Rain-X and treat it, should be out.
was probably shaving cream, as it didnt hurt the paint, lucky it wasnt whipping cream.

Get a power washer and blast the damn thing. I don't think theres a way you can damage the glass with any chemical, the only way you can mess it up is if you scratch it with that razor blade. Try using ethanol or rubbing alcohol.

thanks for the reply ...

already took it to the car wash .. and they can't do jack ... paid 30 bucks to do the details and stuff. The stuff on the paint is off but windshield .. its another case .. its still on there. took it to the dealership and the service guys have no idea .... asked the local car shops, all they can suggest is paint thinner.

as for the kid ... no comment .. its being handled.

Shaving cream or whipping cream is not going to damage glass nor
be a problem in getting off no matter how long it has dried....this I know.....
so it must not be those items. They could of put a base of white shoe polish
first with shaving cream on top....then you're only bet is to scrape....

of the aftermath of the beating you gave the kid.

btw, razor blade wont scratch your windows if used correctly and is probably the most extreme option (along with a chemical). Actually, you want to becareful what chemicals you use on glass, i have screwed up a windshield trying to remove waterspots before. alcohol would be good tho.

thats really weird . you think this kid knew what he was doing and really tried to mess up your car ? ..you know what i mean ? kinda like putting brake fluid on paint ..

try a razor blade you wont hurt your windows if you use it at a angle and some common sense.. good luck

Geee...I am so sorry that happened! I would have to go to jail for beating up someone!!!
It really looks weird and unusual. I would agree with the razor blade at about 45 degree angle, scrape with paint thinner or goo gone. Be careful though that paint thinner does not get in contact with rubber seals! or paintjob! There is really very little stuff that could damage glass surface...[???1]

I would think a razor blade should do the trick, especially if it is shaving creme which is basically soap, I think?

If it is milked/organic based like whipped cream, it could be a real pain. You might be able to scrape some of it off, but still leave a residue. Try using an ENZYME based cleaner or laundry detergent you can find at the grocery store that says it will clean milk stains, etc. This stuff will "eat" the stain away, if it is organic.

Maybe GOO-B-GONE would work?

[:(!] Oh boy! thats really bad Kumafa [mad] it makes me mad even if its not my car. All I know is I have no idea what that stuff is [paranoid] and maybe u shoudl send it to the FBI for further investigation and they can do a big chemical thing and etc..[hihi] but seriously I have nothing but confusion in my path [confused]. Worst thing done to my blazer was an egging and that got taken car off [thumb]. [fake] Good luck [driving]

P.S. My only words of wisdom is "Kick his ass Seabass!"

Call the kid you suspect did it and ask him what the hell it is. At first though, pretend everything went well and be like "HEE HEE THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY, WHAT WAS IT?" then when he tells you, go beat the living shit out of him. Then go find the chemical properties of whatever it is. Maybe then you can work something out...

If you've already talked to him though, nevermind. What kind of BMW is it anyway?
