Rumors have it that the Camaro or Chevelle name may live again as Chevy's version of the GTO.
That would be cool, but I hope they do something more to the car than just change the front fascia and badges and call it a Camaro. A convertible is a necessity, too.

It is an interesting proposition, however. IMO, the current GTO is more along the lines of what the Camaro was originally intended to be than what it ended up being in its 4th generation.

Interesting, but it seems more like a group of people just sitting around guessing.

Chevy High Performance magazine had a rendition of what was "supposed" to be the revived Camaro two or so years ago. It was a retro-styled concept that was based on the '69 design and included the '69-style RS concealed headlights with the "flash-to-pass" louvers. I tried doing a google image search for it, but came up empty. It was a really sweet design that would put the new retro-styled Mustang to shame. I think it would go over big if they went ahead with that car.

I guess only time will tell.

Interesting. I would have thought that with the volatile auto industry in the 80s, GM would have avoided such a long term legal comittment. That explains why it might be a Chevelle instead of a Camaro.

I showed that Camaro concept picture to my wife, she said it looks a bit like a late 60s Charger with the squarish front end. If you ditch the headlights, it actually does bear a little resemblance to the Charger.
