i am sure that every single porsche dealer will be more than happy to order a GT for you. they don´t need it in inventory, it´s build on order.

and for those that really want one, they know what the car is about, they call the nearest porsche center, order a test drive, go there two weeks later by plane and buy it.

A little scene i saw on TV. A guy, medical doctor, goes to his local maserati dealer to order the new quattro porte.

That guy went there, ordered the car. The sales guy gave him the details and extra lists. Doc went through it ticking 9 out of ten options. sales guy summs up the total and doc just waves his hand saying i don´t care, when comes the car. well sir, the car comes in 6 weeks. what? six weeks? what am i supposed to do since then? well sir, buy a maserati spyder and trade it in when the quattro porte arrives. he thinks....agrees and buys a spyder all-in!!! just for 5 weeks to have some car...

now, is that crazy?

a year ago i was at a BMW dealership and they had a new Porsche 911 Turbo, this guy pulls up in a 911 C4 with the body kit, he had a really really really hot girlfriend sitting shotgun who was yapping away on her phone. well this guy parks like a foot from the front door (half his car was in a handicap spot, the other half on what would be considered the sidewalk) he comes in and says his car has 6000 miles on it, and he wants the turbo now. he waves his gf out of the car, and that was that.

I hate people who do stuff like that (referring to the Maserati and Porsche stories). No matter how much $$ you have, it doesn't give you the right to be stupid with it and act like you're king of the world.
What's funny is that these guys who bought the cars like that are just gonna go around telling everyone "When I bought this car, I just walked into the dealership and picked it up, I didn't even bargain blah blah blah."
You guys ever notice that people talk about paying $10K over MSRP for a car nowadays as if it gives them more status that they got ripped off and they don't even care....idiots.

I see pretty sweet cars on the weekends in my part of town - Come the weekend and anythink worth 100K + is cruising the town...but I have not seen the new GT yet, I'll be on the look out.

Several months ago I went to the Ferrari Challenge where there were not only new 360's being raced, but all types of exotics, new, old, race, street, dealerships, personals, car clubs, etc...If the event comes your way I would recommend it. (it travels around the world).

Someone asked where you buy exotics/superexotics. I lived in San Diego for 23 + years. THere is an awsome dealership called Symbolic Motors that specializes in anything considered "sick". They have several dealerships, Newport beach, etc.. go to --> http://www.symbolicmotors.com/

yeah they´re out. at least here. i don´t even like the look that much...but that´s all a question of taste, right?

yeah, MrE is right. even with the money, there is simply no point is spending every minute, every muscle, every move and every cell of your creative thinking for creating the perfect way to brag about the money you have.

I am not a fan of the Quattroporte, either. The styling is just awkward...I do LOVE the F1 transmission in there, though !! I would look elsewhere for a $90K-$100K luxury sedan.

Yeah, I wish I had a camera on me at the time. But the thing is, by the time I would have whipped out the camera been ready to take the picture, the car would have been looong gone.

interesting! you wouldn't happen to be in LA would ya? cuz my friend brought a used 911 C4 with about 8000 miles on it, it had bodykit, rims and a bunch of other goodies from a dealer about 9 months ago ... wonder if its the same car! haha
