Saw a Porsche Carrera GT Today!!!

Hey,

Yesterday I was talking to my friend who's somewhat into cars and he was telling me how he saw a Porsche Carrera GT on the GWB (GW Bridge) yesterday. I didn't believe him and I'm not so sure if I still do...maybe it was some other Porsche. I always thought that the Carrera GT was like an Enzo in that we won't ever see one on the road (although I actually have seen one, but I was only not overwhelmed because I live 10-15 minutes from the Ferrari HQ of NA), but I was almost home and I was sitting at the light, waiting to make a left. All of a sudden this loud monster drives by, it was black and it was mean as f*ck, and there was NO mistake as to what I saw. As soon as it went by, I made a right turn instead of a left because I wanted to see it again, and I caught up to it and it was ridiculously amazing. I could not believe how sickening it was, it was just so freaking ridiculous it was like the batmobile or something.

Lol, dude I saw one, I don't own one (and I like girls, thx). I just thought seeing one would be an extremely rare occurance considering they cost $440,000 which is more than a Lambo (which makes seeing it even more rare). I gotta find out who it is that owns this car so I can steal it. I still cannot believe I actually saw this puppy on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elussive. I think we both saw the same car, I also saw a Silver Carrera GT next to bmw of manhattan on 57th yesterday, I was in my rover, slowed down and enjoyed its beauty. It was definitly a head turner, it had the top off too, just a beauty!

Thats awesome news. This weekend, I saw a Maybach, not very closely, it was driving on the other side of the highway. I then saw 2 Rolls-Royces within like 20 minutes, right in my town. My town is turning into a yuppie hang out it seems, not a bad thing though. Anyways, its always great to see beautiful, rare cars, thats great you saw a Carrera GT.

Millitant-Grunt, the Carrera GT I saw was black and it was in my neighborhood, although I only live 10 minutes from the GWB so if it was the same color, there's a good chance it was the same car.

KevRC, the Maybach is a great car, I have seen them on two or three occasions. If you wanna see some sick cars just go to Manhattan on a Friday or Saturday night. Since M-G lives in NYC, I'm sure he has seen quite a few ridiculous cars. [pray]

Even if some1 did have the money for a 600k+ car, where would they buy it? I mean normal porsche dealerships don't have them in their inventory. I thought they made only a limited number of them.

Just like Rolls Royce. They only made 11 Phantoms, (i heard on tv watching some show on J Lo giving back the Phantom and Ring to Ben, they said only 11 were made).

so where would you buy it? Is there even any room for bargining when the cars that high?

A friend of mine was in LA last Fall and saw; of all people Jerry Seinfeld driving his Carrera down the street they meet him at a stop light, she said he looked like he was in a hurry and was sitting at the light pretty impatient.

Awesome!

Where I work my window looks over a major through road for the mainline area (philadelphia). I have seen just about every supercar or superexpensive car being made. You name it, I have probably seen it... I don't work much just stare out the window. I get a real treat when they park in the parking lot. If I could just figure a way to afford one of these things...
I also head up to North NJ a lot since my fiance grew up in Franklin Lakes and Saddle River. There are some sweet cars there!!!!

BMW_Fanatic, I've seen a Phantom several times. Once here in NJ, and a couple of times whenever I go down to Palm Beach, FL (going down again next week, for 4th of July). Beautiful machine, inside and out....it's finally a Rolls worth its price.

When you're buying a car that costs $400-$500k... you really don't do bargaining. Thats like someone bargaining for an expensive piece of artwork.
