"a 9.5 aero can be a good alternitive to the z3". The M roadster is not going anywhere, haha. I am selling my 318is and am considering selling the 750iL, but who knows. I'll let you know how test drive goes....

My first car was a 1986 Saab 9000 turbo. I beat the S*^T out of that thing. It broke down on me... once over 100k miles that I drove it. And that just happened to be the alternator going during a judging at an IASCA compitition. I sold the car to a friend when it had 220k miles on it (original clutch btw).
He drove it out to Denver and was travelling 100+ mph on the highway for good portions of time out there. (Car could still hit 140mph pretty easily) Car finally ended up dying when he avoided an accident and hit the front right tire into a curb and broke the control arm and did other damage. (repairs were worth more than the car).

My next car which I still own is a 1996 Saab 900 Turbo. Fun car, but has broken down on me quite a few times. Direct Ignition went, just recently the serpentine belt shredded off (this was actually a mistake done by the mechanic that had just recently replaced it. i found out he put the belt on wrong.) Also, the clutch is controlled by a cable, its not hydraulic on that year, and that has broken on me twice! So that sux.. But besides that there have been some maintenence costs, but honestly, the car has been good to me, and will easily last the 200k+ miles range, so its a great work/winter beater. Not much else to say, I mean honestly, it doesn't compare at all to my 03' M3. but hey, what car would? [:D]

Oh and yes, the resale value is horrible. It's not even worth me selling the car at this point, I might as well just keep it till it blows up....

I love Saab's. My mother owned a 95 turbo a while back. They are very safe cars, economical, and can handle for their size (Saab 95). The look takes a while to get used to, but the interior is very spacious and extremely comfortable with many confort devices standard. I love Saab's.

I own an '03 325i and a '96 Saab 900 SE. It recently passed 120k miles, and with the exception of some minor transmission problems at around 85-90 it has held up great.

Unfortunately the car doesn't have tubro ( :( ) but I'll settle for Sport Mode. Handles great, and in terms of interior its right up there with a beemer. I feel very safe driving it but at the same time it's powerful enough to compete with the higher end automobiles.

Saab has something called the "24 hour test drive" where you can borrow a car of your choice from the dealership for an entire day. I have already scheduled one in a few weeks to drive a 9-5 Aero, even though I'm not in the market for one :) I think they say you can only drive 100 miles on the thing over the course of the day, but it's a great opportunity to see how the car handles in a variety of different situations.
