Here are pics of Porsche's concept for a high-end sports luxury sedan. After the success of the Cayenne SUV, Porsche is testing new waters again with the possiblity of a 4-seater sedan to add to the lineup.

No performance specs on it, but expected to it to be available with either a V8 or V10. Expect anywhere from 400-600 hp. Expected price if production models are made is around the $200,000 range.

So, should Porsche decide to make a sedan? Many think that Porsche should just stay a true sports car company and not make this sedan. Will it tarnish their image? What do you think?

Well I thought they were crazy when they introduced the SUV. I guess I was wrong. I read recently that they sold 50% more SUV's last month than they did sports cars. So If Porsche the SUV company wants to sell sedans and sports cars on the side, maybe it will work.
But that price has got hurt!

hm...difficult. i think that porsche is indeed a typical sports car manufacturer. and i do not think that this kind of car would destract from their real point of view as far as cars are concerned. the limousine has a coupe silhouette and with the right engineit will behave as one.

it fits the credo way better than the cayenne i believe, and as the cayenne is a winner, the limousine has a good chance to be one as well.

If they fixed the doors and did something with that space on the front fender... maybe the rear too. I don't really think it fits their market segment. Depending on the price, how many luxury family sedans are there to compete with? unless they're going for that Ferrari sedan that I read about in either motor trend or car and driver.... forgot.

hmmmmmmmmm

what a good question of, if they should do it. i actually like the car, it looks different and well designed. the concept of a fast sedan is cool, not really one out there other than the M5 but this seems to be more performance based to me... erm, with the looks and all.

i dunno, i think porsche will produce it anyway.

Does anyone else think it's nasty? I don't know, like some mentioned above, I was skeptical when Porsche introduced the Cayenne, but it's grown on me to the point where I am considering owning one. But the sedan at 200K, that's just ridiculous, especially since it's so ugly.

What's next: a Maserati sedan? Oh wait a sec.... [rolleyes]

ugly? i agree on the price, but that is a fact you shall put a aside as any porsche is not about discussing it´s market worth. It´s about having the money or not. besides the price, does the car fit a concept that indeed fits the porsche portfolio or not? i bet it does!

Its looks aggressive enough to be called a Porsche and it apparently is supposed to carry the Porsche pricetag...However mrfreg is right, the back end looks like the 928. I see those Cayennes all over and I still think they are ugly as hell, but I guess they mass popular. We shall see

This car is interesting. Is it a hatchback large sedan?

Anyway, Porsche's "reputation" is already gone with the Cayenne. They might as well build a large sedan. Question is whether it will be built on the VW Phan-whatever platform.

i think i would like the sedan if it were air cooled [;)]

I like the looks. It's a Porshe for us poor souls who's wives and kids won't let us get two-seaters. If they were smart though they need to price it in a range to compete with the M5 and E55.

If they plan to sell them for 200k then I also won't have to worry about it since I refuse to throw away that much on a car. I'd rather buy a vacation home and park my bimmer in the garage.

Maserati introduced the original Quattroporte Sedan in the late sixties, (IIRC, certainly by the 1970s), to say nothing about the Bi-turbo of the 1980s.

In other words, a Maserati Sedan is nothing new.
