Well this is a coincidence with my story of what happens with Pickups/SUVs. Everyday I go to work in Barrington (chicago suburb) I have to get off the I-90 and get on Rt. 59 but ne ways, 59 later turns in to a 2 lane road, one lane apposing the other, well this is the same for about say 5miles or less I'm not sure but ne ways to make long story short in every light they try to beat my minivans or anything smaller like cars to the front only to later be causing traffic since they are going 45 when limit is 55. I don't understand this at all [scratch] I'll explain it more later I'm in a hurry just had to share. [:)]

I've seen that with more than just Pickups and SUV's. Yesterday, I was driving down Euclid out to rte 53 and their was another bimmer trying to crawl up my tail pipe. We were doing 50+ in a 35 and 45 zone. When it changed to two lanes, she was very prompt in getting in front of me and slowing down to 40 in the 45 zone pacing a truck that was then next to us. I guess some people are not happy unless they get to slow all traffic down.

gizzy, I know exactly what you mean. I think they do this because they're trying to play the "speeding game." Meaning, it's okay to go fast and tailgate someone to make them go faster, as long as there is someone in front of them. I think they figure that if there are a few speeders, the cop will pick out the car "leading the pack", which makes it easy for the person behind to tailgate and have the "leader" push up their speed even more.
But then they get aggressive and decide to "take the lead" once they get the chance, and then when they're in front they realize they can't speed and so they slow down. Plus I have a little theory of the way some people drive. It's basically like this: when there are cars all around somebody, that person just wants to go faster and pass them all. But when there are no cars around (or in front), there is no more desire to go fast as there are no cars to pass. I didn't sum it up too well, but I hope you get my point.

Hmmmm...very confusing Mr.E lol [scratch]

Oh yeah I will continue my story...

So I had this experience the other day while driving my Blazer (the brick). I was at this light on 59, and this Red Dodge Ram was next to me reving his engine like he was in Formula 1 racing. So I decide to ignore him when just about to change to green he shouts out his window some obsenities and burns out and thats the last I saw of him. I don't understand but I guess he got mad that I passed him the light before since I was in a hurry and he was clearly going slow so I mean hey pass him up. I didn't see his face since it was 5am and kind of lifted truck. I had same experience with a Hummer H1 once as well. But seriously if any of you live in Chicago take 59 going to Barrington in the morning from 5-8am and you will see how the whole trip someone is either tailgating you or trying to make you mad or pass you or I don't even know what to call it lol!

Thats all I had to share [:D] [^]

today i cutoff an escalade. the driver thought he was the big sh_t with his 20s. anyhow, i needed to merge on his lane, and i had about a car on him so i attempted to do so. anyhow he sped up and tried to "beat" me. he got beside me and started screaming at me. my friend was just laughing cause the guy was all red! kinda like this [:(!] we then started to talk sh_t to each other at the light. i was in the F150 [:D].

What is it with the Dodge RAM idiots? I thought it was just around here. A few weeks ago I was in the 330 with the top down. At a traffic light a red RAM pulls up next to me and starts revving the engine. I ignored him. When the light went green, he did a burn out (real impressive in a light ass end pickup) and accelerated hard. Pissed me off so I decided to "legally" race him up to the 40 mph speed limit. I knew I could get a car length on him, which I did. I backed off at 40.

Now he does an UNBELIEVABLY STUPID thing. He continues to accelerate, catching up and passing me. He STILL continues to accelerate while the traffic light about 50 yards ahead, turns yellow. He CONTINUES to accelerate, the light turns red, he's STILL 25 yards away, room to stop, and he just BLOWS thru the light!!

What a friggin idiot!

What is great is people who want to race me in my M3 or in my friend's S4 and they have Cavaliers. Its so funny seeing their faces as we just pull away so fast without even downshifting.

Don't really have the problem with the "BIG" trucks over here.....more just the freaking American Idiots that bring their Mustangs and Trans Ams and try to race them on the Autobahn against ANY German car...then they get mad when they get beat by a VW Golf (not to imply that the Golfs are slow). I know 3 separate individuals that either blown and engine or a Tranny trying to "germanize" their cars on the Autobahn. I love these idiots. I think it is an American thing...Germans (aside from M series owners) don't really do the racing thing to often...or maybe they do and I am already going to fast for them to catch.

As an F-150 driver, it's good to see the Dodge bashing!! I think that Hemi marketing campaign has gone to their heads. Us Ford guys (except lighting owners) know we are slow, but also know (and smile) that we can jerk your frame right from your body if giving the chance to hook up a tow strap! ;). That video has an idiot for a L owner. But be careful when going up against a lightning - if they slapped some bolt-ons on, it can take an M car. They are definitely NOT slow!

i dunno... my father's Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has the mushiest brakes in history, with extremely piss-ant braking power after you jam the brakes down all the way... so 500ft is feasible there...

DC brakes blow. But not 500 feet bad. Depending on the year, the jeep should come to a stop from 70 in about 190ft.

Yup, they are mad stupid. They also LOVE to tailgate.

I had a funny experience today, actually. I'm in FL and I was filling up the tank of the SL and this dude with a Dodge Ram pickup and huge off-road tires and an aftermarket exhaust was pulling out of the station. The whole time he's just like staring me down from his pickup while pulling out, and he was revving the engine so his exhaust could be heard. Do pickup truck drivers realize that they're just not cool? I dunno how things are in FL compared to NJ, but every time I am in FL, there are sooo many pickup truck drivers who put exhausts and shit and wanna give people the impression that their trucks are actually fast. Give me a break...
