Didn't Tool say those things were selling like hotcakes in Germany and were all over the place? Doesn't look bad at all for a wagon, and anyone who's driven a bmw wagon knows they are quite capable vehicles themselves.
AAAHEM..........Guys that is not the 5 series wagon. The 5 series wagon in MY opinion is UGLY...........much uglier than that I believe 2? series? I will post a pic when I find one.

from a dutch message board regarding this vehicle:

BMW have took their design ideas further compared to this the R-Klasse looks like a mini van or bus.
It is a 21st century vehicle. The styling sets up for the next generation of BMW.

The designers were asked to make their interpretation a space functional concept - with great input from the design team leader They have created something that shows imagination, communication with function mixed
with futurism .

The engineering will make this vehicle as car like as possible with low seating and ride height to give impressions that this is of course a niche vehicle for BMW .

When the car was shown to the BMW board there is no doubt that everybody's jaw dropped to the floor when the covers came off. The exterior offers some design cues with the next X5 such as the rear lights and sculpture surfacing .

The interior will offer a 2-1-2-2 seating arrangement offering a central seat in the rear passenger compartment . BMW are testing legislation for rear suicide doors as this would mark out the concept as unique , daring and adventurous amongst the competition.

The RFK is a first step in BMW defining new niches with unique products that take the next step as BMW designers are currently shaping their radical future products extending the design language and exploring all avenues and possibilities for future products. and yes the future it is here to stay..

BMW will offer the RFK with 3.5i/4.8i V8 and two diesels.

To showcase further individuality BMW would like to offer hydrogen power as they believe a radical car would compare well with radical technology and hydrogen power could well be a strong candiate in the not so distant future.

Of course it is well to remember that BMW's last niche vehicle from tradition the X5 has been a tremendous market success . BMW are hoping that when the RFK eventually hits the market that the success is repeated.

That sure doesn't look like a van....it's gotta be built on one of the three platforms, so what makes this different than the regular tourings? It's gonna be on a 7 platform?
