We have such ridiculously high-horsepower cars and for example, over 50% of all Mercedes AMG cars are sold in the United States, but around here, I have a real hard time finding even 65mph speed limits. My point is that we have such ridiculously fast cars nowadays but nowhere to open them up...and if you do go to the track, good luck because insurance won't cover it if you wreck your brand new $90K M5 !!!!!!!!!!
Not only that but it's hard to find a non-redneck track within 3 or 400 miles of any one place.

True, but if people are going to keep buying them the manufactures are going to keep producing them. I love them though....

Yeah, the cars will always sell but I think it might be more fun on the road to have a slower car nowdays. I barely get to redline my car simply because I never need to....I can just accelerate hard to 4K or 4.5K rpm and that's all the power I need....I want to be in high revs and enjoy the sounds and the experience without getting into license-losing territory.

Yeah but once you get into those high revs, you can say bye to gas mileage. Not that I would mind, but the supercars that get around 10mpg is when you're driving like a grandma. Imagine what it's like when you're whipping around at high revs.
