Strap yourself in, turn up your sound for this one. This is super intense!! Nice lap time too. Too bad all those sorry Porsches kept getting in the way. I like the fist pump at the finish line Woohoo!

M3 GTR (9 minutes)

Damn dude, he is freaking flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Is that a full manual gearbox? I can't really see his left leg and his shifts are amazingly fast and amazingly perfect.

I told you that most real race cars still have a clutch pedal - even with a sequential transmisison, have a clutch pedal.

Yea and in some cases you CAN see his left leg moving.
I think he's shifting amazingly fast. Race cars will always have a clutch. There are so many driving techniques that absolutely require a clutch. Formula 1 even has clutches (though I think the clutch itself is controlled by the hand)

That is a traditional manual by the movement of the lever. That guy is going ludicrous speed. Wow, what an adrenaline rush, just watching it; awesome video. If the video started when he started his lap, the 8:36 time is absolutely a winner. Breaking the 8" barrier is the benchmark for the N Track. His time is not to shabby. I think Il watch it again!

Oh he would DEFINITELY beat the 8 minute mark if it were a clear track.

Wow, he passed absolutely everything, were those prosches not trying or just no match, because he made mincemeat out of everything on that track..
Anyone can race on the Nurburging. It costs like 35 or 50 Euros for a lap on the track. I'm assuming that most of the other cars on the track were just "enthusiasts" practicing and stuff, whereas M3 GTR guy was the only real race car driver. Not to mention, the M3 GTR is probably a FAR better machine than anything else on that track.

I have an S-video output to my TV from my PC and watched it full screen with surround sound. Feels like you're in the car. I had to calm down after I was so pumped up!

I also noticed the fast perfect shifts...does he maybe have a clutch stop and/or a "short throw" clutch pedal or something? Either that or he's a machine.

I can´t open it here in office, but i am pretty sure I know what video is being referenced to. Is it a blue GTR following a greenish Jaguar S-Type of the V8 star league, catching it and afterwards fighting an 911 GT3 RS?

If so, it is a 4.0 L V8 engine with 450 hp. the team is completly private, that is the most amazing.

The series where they race starts in march and i´ll be there [hihi]

he doesn´t need a clutch to put the gears in and the stick moves in two directions only. back and forth. when the driver wants to shift up he pushes the lever towards the dash. the engine then will cut ignition for an instant while a hydraulic unit changes the gear for the driver. after the gear is in, ignition comes up again. that all takes only a split second.
btw, shifting down is pulling the stick to the back. the reason why you might see the left leg working is that he brakes with it. i did not watch it that closely yesterday so this is just an idea, but maybe?

on the other hand, the car may also be a standard manual shift. the M3GTR for the ALMS is manual shifted and is basically identical to the scheid BMW. i´ll browse the net to find it...
