yes thats why i said it was automatic and not adjustable in a previous post. I said cable as a general car term, trying to keep it simple to understand in my more recent post.

and as i said before way up the page... it was a messed up clutch. defective as you said.

I have replace A LOT of clutches before. Probably a few more than you. Everything I stated, I've seen.

I've seen hydraulic cylinders cause failures. I've seen them over-extend and cram the throwout bearing into the fingers. I've seen them not mounted correctly also.

I've seen clutch disks INSTALLED wrong. Don't tell me that it is not possible. It is possible and I've seen it. Don't underestimate the ability of idiots to force things to fit. I didn't say it was right, just that it is possible.

I've seen the arm with the throwout bearing break.

Most failures like yours are from the pads coming loose from the clutch disk.

proably a few more than me like you would ever know how many i have done. not that i care if you have done more than i have.

some clutches cannot be installed backwards such as in a jetta because the bolts wouldn't be even close to long enough to try to cram it in backwards. The clutch even tells you to put it in backwards... way to go sachs....

when did i say there couldn't be failures as you stated. i understand soem people don't have as much experience as others and as a result make mistakes, but the list of things you said earlier were not really possible. You said linkage and thats usually known as shifter linking, not clutch. alignment etc.... the stuff you just mentioned, fine obviously they are possible, but what does that have to do with what was said. the issue was the cluch only. I don't know what you are getting at, just seems like you are trying to spitt out a bunch of info to let everyone know how knowledgable you are.

Pretty hilarious and thanks for the laugh but you need to grow up. If people are trying to help, you should learn to be a little better at your approach, even if you don't agree. Forums are for helping, not bashing....

oh and your post was the most encouraging.

I give staight facts, i'm not trying to sit there and impress people.

I'm not bashing anyone, I'm just trying to clear up the misinformation you were giving. And your random "facts" had nothing to do with anything. Speaking of growing up. Come on.

I wasn't impressed, I took it that the guy wanted to prove his arguement with examples that it could very well have been defective and "not to underestimate an idiots ability to make something fit"

Relax mjbst111...
