Speaking of comprehensive coverage claims, about 3 years ago I had a friend file claim for 2 slashed tires and a keyed hood. About 3 months later, he hit a deer while in upstate New York. Statefarm paid the claim, and then dropped him. Going on that would lead one to believe that they do take into account comprehensive claims when calculating your risk. Thats like insuring an M6 that gets parked in the west district of Newark New Jersey, and every time the car gets vandalized, broken into, or attempted to be stolen, the owner simply files a claim and insurance pays without any penalty? I doubt it works that way. The way I see it any claim, any ticket, any inquiry even, can raise your risk. I'd be weary of insurance companies, especially if I was an 18yr old male driver in California. I would wanna be as far off the radar of my insurance company as possible, considering they already classify that age group as ultra-high risk. I also doubt insurance companies have gotten any more lenient in the last 3 years...
Although I do agree with getting it documented for the vandalism and if possible, find the perp and charge him with criminal property damage.
