Plus, if the exhaust is water vapor, wouldn't that affect precipitation? I've never heard anyone bring that up.
LMAO....yeah, potential torrential rain storms all over the world, especially around intercities! Rain forests cropping up in deserts!

Pinto fiasco? Conspiracy theories? WTF are you talking about??? That has nothing to do with what i posted. Nuclear energy is the most efficient energy we have right now. We just don't know what to do with our waste.
You commented that hydrogen would be safe to transport as car manufacturers could use robust tanks such as used to hold nuclear waste. Although true, it may not end up being the case. The Ford Pinto manufacters also had the opportunity to build their cars so that they safely held gasoline, but due to penny pinching they didn't, and people died due to the tanks igniting in accidents. My point was that manufacturers don't always do the most logical or safe thing i.e. saying "surely they will use this technology..." is naieve. I will admit though, that in this day and age legislation and public awareness of safety pretty much rule out another Pinto fiasco, but it was just a reminder that manufacturers don't always do the right thing and we cannot assume they will.

As far as the conspiracy theory comment goes, that was in relation to the post two above mine, not yours.

Hope that cleared a few things up for you [:)]

Hmm, it did seem a little far fetched, oh well.

I think the pintos blew up because a wire or a connection to the left (not sure) blinker was too close to the tank and not insulated properly or something along the lines. They only blew up when the blinker was on and even then you would be able to avoid the exploision, with lots of luck that is. The crown vics blow up because something punctures the gas tank, don't remember exactly what but eh, doesn't matter. The point is that you don't want to trust your life to ford, hehe.

Why don't we all just take all the plutonium in the world and build Nuclear power plants over in the Middle East and have a wire run up to the White house that will blow them up if need be and give it to Bush to watch over it [:D]. Then we continue using petroleum until its all out and WWIII will arise as the last drops of it are wasting by and hey remember no one has Plutonium or nuke bombs anymore so we would all fight with swords and tanks and finally when the US is being invaded we blow up the reactors and sink a big hole into the earth and then the center of the earth will leak out and our gravity will be disrupted and then we will all die from the sun rays burning us while a huge nuclear fall out occurs killing almost everything alive and creating a nuclear winter. After this is all good and done and only the smart survive (from bombshelters 70miles under the ground) will come out and die since the ground is still filtered with radioactive filth and then a meteor comes crashing down the size of Russia and takes us all on a trip to the Sun were we start taking the other lower planets with us and crash into the sun and the sun gets pissed so blows up and creates a humongous black hole and sucks in the whole galaxy and p0of everything is dead. [:o]

Or we could just stick invent something else or what not [scratch] [rofl]

P.S. I'm j/k

Great and interesting thread. My two cents:
I wonder how much pollution, if any, the oil manufacturers, plants, rigs, spilled tankers, gas transport trucks, ect., make to bring the fossil fuel we are using now to us. And then, we fill our tanks (cursing at the price), and create even more pollution.
How much does that weigh vs the pollution to create hydrogen fuel where the end result is completely natural.
I think that if this hydrogen technology takes off, it would be smart to create an industry where most components used to deliver this new energy source to us, use hydrogen. Ultimately minimizing pollution. I know that it will take a lot of energy to produce the new fuel, but how would that compare to what we are doing now.
If more vehicles use hydrogen, it would mean less pollution, but require more energy to produce the higher demand. In the end though, the only polluter would be the manufacturers.
Im totaly ingnorant to this technology, but was is the ratio of end waste to produce the same amount of product between the two sources?

I think in the future they will build stronger higher pressure tanks that will be able to hold more Hydrogen and sacrifice less space. I for one and am looking forward to BMW's Hydrogen future attempt :)
