How badly do you want an M3?

Hey,

So I know we're all probably very happy with our own cars and we're all having a great time driving. But am I alone when I say that I desparately want an M3? I mean, I absolutely love my car and I enjoy every minute of it, and I look forward to the remaining 2 years I have with it. But it seems like every single day where the M3 randomly comes up in my mind and I just day-dream for a while of how absolutely killer it would be to have that beast. I can't even imagine the pure driving pleasure that the E46 M3 delivers and it kills me that I have pretty much missed out on any chance I ever had on getting one. Anybody else feel this way? I can't possibly be the only one on this board who almost feels like he/she NEEDS an M3, lol.
One time, when the E46 M3's were FIRST coming out (I knew everything about this car way before they came out) and they had almost a 1-year wait at dealerships, my dealership had a silver 2001 M3 Coupe with some regular options sitting in the showroom. The one salesman that I always talk to at my local dealership said that BMW gave it to the dealership as like a "gift" because BMW knows the dealerships were able to sell an M3 for MSRP or higher in less than a week. So I went home and I begged the shit outta my dad for it until he finally actually said "OKAY!....but let's talk to your mom first." So we talked to my mom and she obviously ruined everything, but yeah that's the closest I ever came to getting one.
Anyways, just needed to vent since I've been thinking like this for SO damn long. I just can't wait until I'm older and I'm making my own $$ and I will be able to get myself a beautiful M car and I'll just be the happiest guy in the world.

Thanks,
MrElussive

Geez, I just wish I could afford a car newer than a 1987, but then again, my parents are more sensible than to buy their son a 50 some thousand dollar car. Yeah, the M3 is an awesome car, and I'd love to have one, but there is no way I'll ever have one any time soon, and I'd certainly never expect my parents to buy one for me, nor would they ever be willing to buy me a car that cost more than either of their cars or their first house for that matter.

I too would like an M3, but I guess I feel like you shouldnt be complaining because you merely got a brand new Infiniti and not an M3 handed to you

Yea I'd love to get my hands on an E30 M3, but it ain't gonna be happening for a while. So I figure I'll just drop in an M50/S52 variant and be happy.
where did you get that idea? [wave] wink

yeah Emile, i want one pretty bad too. i think people are assuming you take this stuff for granted, i know you don't. i will someday have a nice e30, and a nice e46. mmmMMMMmm

Some reason, i dont have the urge to do like equate did and buy so much as the e30 ver.
i feel like, im waiting for this career to make a turn in the next couple years and i will be forced to buy a new car... thats when i will go all out. but ill still have this car to play with.

Seriously.
i agree...it's one thing to have someone give you a car (and the G35C is a pretty dayam nice car). All I ever got from my parents were a 86' Corolla SR5 (AE86).

Now I'm working and got myself a 330i (M3 was a tad bit too expensive and impractical for me - although I still itch for it once in a while). But I love what I have and it means a lot to me that I got it on my own. Just my own $.02 i guess. [thumb]

I'd take an M3, although, if it is ever offered, I'd probably go with a Z4 based M Roadster.

An M3 can get you in trouble! Here's a quick M3 story - My wife was leaving the hospital the other day and got passed (stormed, actually!) by a new M3. She recognized the driver, another doctor at the hospital. The next day she asked him about his M3 and his wife was there also. His wife laughed and said that a little while ago he got THREE SPEEDING TICKETS IN ONE DAY - ALL OVER 100 mph!!!!!! He's from Germany and just can't help it!

Proof that no matter how much education you have, you can still be quite stupid.

owning an ///M3........why thats like the Wizard of Oz for me. I reckon that by age 25 I might have one.......no not 25, but 35. If I get one I can die happy [thumb] if sooner even better. Just owning a BMW would make me happy at the moment, the Blazer isn't funtastic, only in off-roading times, but its my 1st car so I like it for the moment [|)]

I'd love one, but I don't ever see one in my future unfortunately. I'm too practical. My 325ci was my one shot at a luxury sports coupe. Gonna have kids by the time the 325 needs to be replaced and I'll have to get a sedan or minivan/suv of some type. By the time the kids are out of the house, my arthritis and bad back are likely gonna put me in a Mercedes or some other soft riding coupe.

Blah, some of you misunderstood the point.

It's just that whenever the non-M3 owners hop into the M3 section of the forum, I always see posts of people saying how hot it would be to have an M3 of their own, so I decided to find out who actually really wants one.
I dunno about you guys, but every time I see one on the road, I wish I was driving it!!

Well, yeah. But everytime I see a Ferrari, I wish I were driving it too. I wouldn't sell a kidney to do it though. Guess I've gotten too practical in my old age. [:(]

Ditto. Maybe once I hit my 2nd childhood and my kids are all gone to college then I can get a new M3, or whatever it is 18 years or so from now.. Do I wish I'd had a chance to 'have' one while I was single and reckless/dangerous? Of course!!

If they made a 4dr M3 again well.. I might have to sell some organs... [:D]
