i've only driven a few autos and it's ruined it for me. one was a truck (bigass comercial truck)-no power, uncomfortable, stiff shifts...lowsy ride-i hated it. second one is my mom's van (ya, shutup i drove a van now and then.. ). it wasn't a bad ride and it didn't shift too badly. but it was a van! i couldn't enjoy it =) the only other car i drove in auto transmission is my grandma's acura 3.5RL. nice ride although i'm used to riding on low profile tires. sloppier shocks and whatnot. the transmission SUCKS though. you get whiplash everytime it shifts (not really but ow). so those are my experiences with auto tranny.

Well yeah manual is manual. I learned on manual transmission so its my love too. I drove a E430 AMG few times and that auto trannsmission was great.

Tom/Bimmerlife-i'm in florida studying real estate, whereupon i intend to return to seattle and practice officially (which is where i plan on getting my money to afford that E34 M5 i was asking about)

Good field to go into, thats how I am able to afford the new X5......and no, its not a least either. I hate leases.......

ya, leases really suck. congrats on the X5, although i've never really been a fan of SUVs. i like small cars...go fast, handle well. happy days

Especially when you are single, all you need is a little car. I really hate Trucks and SUV's on the road. And people drive by themselfs anyway. The worst thing is that people really think they are safer than the rest of the cars, which not true at all.

Oh well but an X5? Damn!
