Not during commute hours... I'm lucky if I even get out of 4th gear on the freeway on my way to and from work.
My sympathies. I left the Bay Area traffic behind about 8 years ago. I have to drive down to San Jose later this week for a meeting and will try my best to avoid rush hour.

I was referring to the open freeways outside of the cities (the 5 from Redding to Sacramento, the 80 between Fairfield and Vallejo are what I know best). I cruise just below 80 unless I'm in a hurry and then I go...... There are usually a few going over 100 every time I travel, often cheap little ricers and (I hate to say it) smaller BMW's driven by kids... The one's that really make me nervous are the pickups and SUV's going that fast.

I'm on the peninsula and it seems as though it is getting worse every day. I've started leaving earlier in the morning which helps but not enough. [:(]

I used to wakeup at 4:00am each morning just to commute into Santa Clara. The worst part is that no matter how early you wakeup, there is always going to be traffic.

Also, did you get your brakes checked out? [:D]

Man Tom, I thought 4:00 am was "the time before time".

If I had to wake up at that time, I'd be in no hurry to come back here.

Yup, had the brakes checked and all I can say is Peter Pan has sub par techs. They didn't even take the wheel off of the car; just put it on the lift and inspected it VISUALLY. They said they couldn't duplicate the noise (which is pure crap) because my tires are "almost" to the wear bars.

I'll be taking it into Allison BMW in about 2 weeks to see if they are any better.
