I live about 15 minutes from the Ferrari's headquarters for North America (Yeah, ain't it cool?
). When they build a Ferrari and ship it to the US, first it goes to this headquarters. Ferrari displays it on their "showroom floor" where there one whole side of the building consists of huge glass windows...the car sits there for a few weeks just to show it off to people driving by (although the place is not a dealership...you cannot go there and buy a Ferrari unless you are a very good Ferrari customer). Then they prep it and ship it off to where it needs to go. Around this area, I often see the Ferraris being test-drive by the mechanics to see if the cars are running properly, and of course the cars still have all that white covering all over them. One time I actually saw an Enzo in its white wrappings (no joke, I would never make this mistake)...I am hoping to actually see a real Enzo on the road one day.
Anyways, if you live in the area, the way it works is...whenever you need service for your Ferrari, a Ferrari guy comes and picks up the car and brings it to the headquarters. They fix the scratch or do the service or whatever and then they drop the car back off at your house.
