I completely agree Dodge will be making money off of this, but if its a popular car and selling well I think they'll hurt the model's image by doing this.
Yea unfortunately it will. The part that will suck the most for owners is everyone will be slamming on their brakes when they see a white magnum.

I thought this was funny in the link codex posted

"The 3.55-geared CVPI is speed limited to 119 mph to prevent unwanted driveshaft harmonics. " Why would they need to limit it? Couldn't they just install a harmonic balancer or something? Kind of like the guibo on our cars?

It also says the crown vic's 60 - 0 braking distance is 147. Is it just me or does that seem to be a HUGE distance for 60 - 0? I think the supercharged buick my friend's parents have from the mid 90's has a shorter stopping distance than that! I think it's funny the expedition they tested had a 5 foot shorter stopping distance than the crown vic!!

The local cops in my town have a couple of brand-new Expeditions. I cannot understand how they could use that as a cop car...the Expedition is such a awful-handling, slow vehicle, I'm surprised they can catch anyone!!
My hometown has lowered Chevy Tahoes (in addition to the regular crown vics). You couldn't really run in the city anyways so I think those SUVs are not for pursuit purposes. Probably to transport large items (like investigative or medical equipment) or for getting around in the snow.

I don't really find a reason why everyone keeps thinking the new HEMI is like the old HEMI its nothing alike, its more like an EMI. POS possing of the old stuff
As far as I know, the "hemi" designation describes the shape of the head... being hemispherical. I'm not sure why dodge makes such a huge ass deal about it, many companies , including bmw, has been using a hemispherical head design for a very long time, even back in the days that bmw was building pushrod motors.

Read the paragraphs under "cylinder head".

Yes! That is the ones, they are small, slow and terrible police cars. The only good thing about them was that they came with Recaro seats. Thank you.
my roommate from where i was going to school in the fall had a regular old lumina with the 3.1l V6. He put an "aftermarket suspension", exhaust, etc. (read: autozone) on it which raised it up a few inches... and he would drive around back roads trying to show off...not much to show off, except the body lean [rofl]

He also took me and a friend (who does some major autox stuff) out on a highway up there to show us how fast it was. After about 2 minutes the car stopped accelerating, but it had the typical f-body float and it was just the most unstable thing EVER, even at 60mph. The speedo pegged at 85mph [rofl][rofl]

"Hemi" does describe the shape of the head, but these new "Hemi"s are not true hemis. I have seen the heads from these motors, there is nothing special to it other than a large combustion chamber. It is just a marketing scam to get people to buy something that has the name of something that USED TO mean something, i think they have ruined the Hemi name by doing this.
