Autobahn max speed reduced?

The guy is being brought up on charges, he was in court just last month for this incident. I saw the video just the same as everyone else did in Germany I believe it was on PRO SEIBEN or RTL. This happened a while back actually. It has recently re-made the news because the guy went to trial. i do not know the outcome as of yet but I will find out. There was a video...I have nothing to gain by "ruffling feathers" in this forum....I think all you guys and girls rock. This forum kicks mad booty. I saw on the German news pictures of the benz with the scratch and paint on the right front bumper from this. Believe me....I get irrate at times when I get these slow ass cars are impeeding me...but I am not going to run someone off the road, as much as I might like to at times.
If this guy did indeed hit this woman's bumper, then he needs to be in jail for a good long time. Still not a good reason the reduce the speed limit, though. Take that line of thinking (slow=safe) to its extreme and we'll all be back in horse and buggy.

Compleately true, My family is from poland and both my father and mother obteined their liscences there, from what I heard is that the test to get a liscense isnt 10 questions ( like the silly test i took to get my permit ) but is more like a booklet. The things that are on the test are scary, you basically need to know how the engine is built and how it works in case you need to repair it. You need to memorize some 40 road signs (if not more). Now thats the Theoretical test alone. The practical is hard as well. Everything from parallel parking to road rules. I got my permit in february, the test was a compleate joke (i got all q's right) I didnt have to study anything. Even funnier part is that ive been driving on this permit in NYC without getting pulled over. I have some 80 hours of driving on interstates, city, etc.. Today coming back from brooklyn I almost got mauled over by a van. Its funny how much american are ignorant drivers...

where you have dense population, thus highly developed mass transit system, and highly congested roads, thus they have to try to limit the number of cars and drivers on the road.
"dumb" american drivers have to drive to get anywhere, be it work, or to the mall or where ever, unless you live in nyc or something. due to this necessity, they almost have to allow "ignorant" drivers out on the road. why do you think so many of the clueless grannys are driving 10miles below the speed limit? how else would they get around?

speedlimit on the autobahn....my personal nightmare...
reasons why i thin that it is a nonsense to resttrict the allowed speed:
1. traffic usually controles the possible speed. Too much traffic = low speed
2. people who tend to threaten other with blnkers and flashing lights during high traffic will not stop when there is a limit.
3. many germans will not slow down when the autoban is free. i will not, i promise
4. when the traffic is low enough to go at a reasonable speed, the trafic has a very smooth flow.
Result: a restriction of traffic will bring nothing else but helping mother nature as emissions wil go down. of course father state will earn from the tickets. but for security reasons there will be no provement.
actually i once read an article about the differences between the US and germany´s traffic system. in the US the number of accidents on the high and freeways is higher the people tend to loose concentration. monotony is the key word. you just don´t have to concentrate that much.
