This week's AutoWeek Magazine has a brief review of the 2005 Honda Accord hybrid. In an interview with Robert Bienenfield, a Honda senior manager, he justifies the hybrid by saying "People don't feel safe at gas stations."

Huh???

I think about it more than in the past because there have been a number of fires. A guy at the station close to where I work touched the handle and a spark started a fire. He then pulled the hose from the truck (reaction I guess) and started himself on fire by spilling the liquid on his clothes.

I think more but no real fear.

Is this more of a problem in dry climates ? [scratch] Could be.

It's when people get back into their cars. Wether they say they did or not, theres no way to create enough static by just standing there to create a spark to ignite gasoline unless you get into the car.
