Look at that, finally a 6 speed. Audi is finally improving that ride.. Now only if they would give a car with a sporty appearance (looks great) that weighs 3400lbs + - a base engine with more than 170HP!! At least 200HP, I mean.. Come on.. It's a sweet car, just needs some balls..

Tom,

Cool video !!!, I always liked those A4's - plus I would enjoy the "stealth" effect of hiding a S/C under the hood - scary fast

I still pick my M3, but that is one cool A4 !! [thumb]

only thing wrong with the audi is its FWD. i hate that
but to be honest with you, if bangle messes up the 3
series like he has those other cars, then imho audi
will have the nicest lookin cars. =\

Audi belongs to VW, but Porsche is its own company. Although, they do share factories in Germany and they end up sharing parts. You can find the Jetta's shitty cupholder in the Porsche 911, and Porsche uses the 3.2 Liter V6 Passat engine in the regular Cayenne. Also, the Touareg and Cayenne share the same platform. But Porsche is separate from Audi/VW and the Jetta does not use the Porsche suspension (would cost way too much).
As for the Quattro issue, yeah, most Audi's are Quattro AWD. Quattro is a great system, but it adds a lot of weight and puts more stress on the engine (both of which hinder acceleration). But personally, I really love the Quattro AWD system.

Porsche is owned by VW???[confused]

It is a fair guess since they did jointly produce the Cayenne and Tourag although Car and Driver states Porsche did a better job, doesn't the Tourag run on diesel?

VW owns 71% of Porsche. I know Ive traded VW and have looked into the company.

Test drove the A6 Quattro 3.0 back-to-back with the new 530 on a controlled test track, in the rain, and with a teflon skid pad. The audi pushed on every turn and was awful through the slalom. Totally changed my pre-conceived ideas about quattro drive in wet weather. Maybe it's good for six inches of snow?

This is a very interesting thread; I had no idea the Audi/VW engines were so good. Wouldn’t a 4 cylinder need to be exceptionally strong to endure the abuse of this type in order to generate such tremendous horsepower? It would seem like the engines would need to be capable of tremendous RPM compared to others???

Just look at the mid 80's to early nineties Lotus Esprit Turbo's...4 cylinder engines...mad hp's

Maybe the weight of the vehicle affected it, but normally Quattro AWD on an Audi provides exceptional traction in the rain.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo is made by VW/Audi this time...the Italians didn't even get to design the car.
