Ugly, but I thought the current Accord is kinda ugly too. Didn't seem to be a deterrent to sales tho. People who buy these cars just want an appliance. They could care less what it looks like. My parents are a perfect example. They don't even care about the color. It's just a tool to get them from point A to point B and they want the least hassles to do so.

No point in comparing it to a BMW, Mercedes, etc. I am disappointed that it has the Bangle butt, but it's kinda irrelevant. These cars don't do the same thing. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Kia Rio. Yes, the Ferrari is generally better. So what? Totally different classes and price points.

I don't think it's too bad looking either. Especially compared to most new BMWs. Most past Camrys have been pretty ugly though. The mid-90s Camry wagon has to be one of the ugliest cars of the decade. But people who buy them don't care. Like it's been said, their customers just want an appliance to get them to work in relative comfort.

Know what the scary thing is?

It'll probably come with the 270hp V6 as an option! In a straight line it'll beat a new 330i. I'd be embarrassed to get smoked by a Camry or an Altima or Accord. Pretty soon minivans will be coming out with 300hp.
I thought the honda minivan had 250 hp?

Great interior, Toyota interiors especially on higher end cars are pretty comfy.. My 2k Solara was no speedster even with some mods done, but it was niiice inside..

This 2007 Camry however, looks like a boat.. The windows just look too small, like there's no good way to look 'out' of the car (Which I had that problem in my Solara as I recall too, all 'unibody', no windows..)

It's perfect for the non 'car fag'. Hah, that actually made me laugh! That guy really wishes he could afford - a Lexus, hah!!

Must be getting old but I do not like the T looks and the M6 does not turn my crank neither
as far as looks go. Now engine wise that is very different.
Think I will hang on to my 1997 328i for now.

Here's the official word from Toyota on the new Cumry:

'Vanilla' sundae

Toyota's Camry, the best selling car in the U.S. for the past seven years, was redesigned for 2006 and debuted at Detroit this week. Toyota itself acknowledged that the previous car, while a sales leader, was often described by its owners as "vanilla", "bread and butter" and "dad's car."

"A play-it-safe-redesign of the Camry was out of the question," said Don Esmond, a senior executive with the carmaker. "The market, and the segment in which Camry competes, is just too competitive."

Instead, the Camry has a more "athletic" look, along with cues in the headlamps and grill that connect it to both its full-sized sibling, the Avalon, along with the company's new subcompact Yaris.

That's interesting, the styling looks exactly like they played it safe. It is more athletic than the previous model, but there are just no sporting intentions at all. I think this car is going to make A LOT of people happy.

Wow, I think the 07 Camry looks a lot better than the current version. The current model is hideous, especially with the exhaust muffler that hangs so low it can be seen by motorists behind it. Rear end looks like the new Hyundai Sonata.

What I say about it...

That's interesting, the styling looks exactly like they played it of another Japanese piece of crap. It is more pathetic than the previous model, but there are just no good intentions at all. I think this car is going to make A LOT of liberals happy.

I'm a liberal left wing nut, and I HATE toyotas. The current model is absolutely discusting, the tail end sticks up so high they should have put a window on the side and made it a station wagon! This one is also ugly, but in a different way. I actually think if they reworked the grille a bit, it wouldn't be bad.

Maybe "hate" isn't the right word for how I feel about toyotas. They're perfect cars for their target audience... people who want a tool to get from point A to point B, not worrying about anything breaking, not worrying about having to "baby" it, etc. However, I'm not that person.

WHY IN GODS NAME DO YOU KEEP RE-ELECTING SENA..(HICCUP)..TOR EDWARD (COUGH..CHAPPAQUIDDICK) KENNEDY?

By the way spread the word Kevin (if that is your real name), you and your people should be driving Volvos- Good to see it hasn't spread to you though.

It doesn't look too bad, the front reminds me of a Mazda 6, the rear the new IS, which is no suprise since Toyota makes Lexus. The raised bootlid seems to be 7 Series'ish, the high belt-line 5 Series'ish. The steering wheel looks really confusing with all of those buttons on it. I think the purpose of having buttons on the steering wheel for safety is defeated when EVERY button is on the wheel. All in all, a much better looking car than the previous generation. Looks roomy at the back too.

At first site, I HATED the look of this car. As a Camry hater, I must admit, it's growing on me. The interior looks like great quality (as usual for toyota), and the wood is gorgeous. Maybe a few more looks and I might actually like the design. I like the little swoopy vent design thing going along the shoulder. It's similar to that of the X5, but is much nicer.
