Yes, that is the base price for the 170hp version. There is no pricing yet for this V8 version they are planning, but it is a fine looking roadster in my humble opinion!

Definitely a nice looking package. The Solstice is/will be a hot car for a few years, no doubt. GM finally pulled another one together after so many failures.

But, I don't think this will ever pose serious competition to the "premium" roadster market. The handling/chassis for the Solstice wasn't designed for that kind of power. With 400 hp this will be one loose, unpredictable mother!

Damn that's an awesome value. I have to say I'd be hard pressed to buy a Z4 over the solstice with the exception of the fact the Z4 is simply a BMW vs. a Pontiac.

Like the people with 500hp E30's and can never keep the car straight with full throttle at any speed.

The Saturn Sky is one fine looking machine too. I seen on at the fair and it was unbelievable. Price wise it was cheap too....

It has a similar looking rear, but different looking front

Yeah, I think the Sky is actually a better looking car, at least exterior-wise. I like the interior of the Solstice better, though.

You haven't seen many on the road yet because these cars are just now beginning to roll of the assembly line - the supply of vehicles isn't out there yet in any appreciable numbers.

I have to say that at a quick glance it looks very 350Z-esque...
Funny but the Solstice was planned before the 350z came out! GM wanted to make a cheap two-seater ten years ago, but never did; original sketches looked similar to this but nothing came of it. You could actually say they both copied Porsche.

Using your logic, you could say BMW copied their wheel design of the new 7 series from oxen carts from the dark ages in europe. Technically they DID copy from one to the other, but nobody cares...really, they don't.

I care. I really do. A whole lot. So much that I'm never buying a car again if any part of it is copied from another car.

... I'm not buying another car until they start making them without wheels.

I tend to agree....
Word [werd]

I think GM saw that they WERE going down hill, and were like "we need something kind of exciting" and made this. Having a non-BMW posted on THIS forum, and not having it TOTALLY bashed is a very big thing!
