Hey guys,

Playing off of Tom's thread title here. I took delivery of my 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX at 6:30PM. I still have the G35 Coupe (for now, at least), and I financed the WRX and I'm paying for the whole car and the insurance and everything. So for once, everything is under my name and it's ALL MINE. WOOHOO !!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, it's an 08 WRX 4-Door in Dark Gray Metallic with Auto-Dimming Mirror/Compass and accessory Fog Lights (which have not come in to the dealership yet).

Pictures: Http://gallery.mac.com/emileamirsaleh

Sorry if the pictures are blurry, I took a whole lot more but they all came out so god damn blurry! The camera was on auto so I don't understand why. I will take some more pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks,
MrE

The styling is so unbelievably tame, though. The front looks great, but the rest of it just looks like a Honda Accord Sedan and has a really crappy interior. It drives like an absolute champ!!

It's a nice ride. More than a few people have commented about the "Jekyl and Hyde" styling on this generation. The previous one was in your face aggressive, they definitely toned down the visuals, but it is still a kick ass ride.

Congrats, congrats!! Love the colour! The WRX is a great little car, and it must feel great to have it all on your own.

Don't fret about the interior, you can't compare it to the G35, as it's so much more $.

You got yourself!!! a cool ride.

Thanks, gentlemen. I am going to see if I can turn in the G35 Coupe lease early as I have no need for two cars, and it's especially unfair for my parental units to pay for the G and for my insurance on the G when I can happily get by with the WRX.

Kirby, it's not a jekyl and hyde deal, it drives exactly how it looks, it's just fast and amazingly sure-footed (I think mostly due to the 4WD), and has great brakes.

Got some more pictures up, just click on the link in my original post and you'll see the second album.

Tom, something is wrong with my account, I can't make any posts.

Nice pics Emile. I really like your colour a lot. Is that your new house being built in the background, you know.....to go with your new car?

Thanks for more pics, outside of the garage. It's a good looking little car. Funny how the rear is SO conservative, yet the front end is somewhat aggressive.

Congrats! I actually like the styling. Yeah, it's not wild, but neither are the Euros generally. BMW and Bangle pushed the envelope some, but I think his designs are butt ugly and the public seems to agree with me as his stylings have gotten more conservative. I don't find the Subie Accord-like at all. Much better than the accord actually. Least on the outside. Interior does leave something to be desired.

Thanks for the posts guys. Adam, I could not agree with you more. The rear is so damn conservative I am heavily considering having the rear spoiler installed.

Yeah Emile...I almost even said in my first post that the car would actually look good with the rear spoiler, but I assumed you (and lots others) would scream in agony [rolleyes]

I think I'm just now so used to the spoiler on the WRX, that without it....it looks too plain and "sedany". Either way, I think you made a wise choice (reliability, financially, performance, safety...)

I'm liking the looks of the new Altima coupe even more than the Accord coupe.

I vote for the spoiler too. I dunno, I think I'm also too used to seeing WRX's with spoilers that it looks weird without one.
