The Audi sounds and looks very, very cool, but I don't get the commercial. I know that in the Godfather movie, there was a horse's head in the bed. In this R8 commercial, what is that old car, what make, and why is it significant? Why is the man screaming?

I haven't watched any of The Godfather movies in a while but if I remember correctly, the dead horse was placed there as a warning/threat of what is going to happen.

In this case, my understanding is that the R8 chopped off the old luxury car's "head" and placed it in the guy's bed, showing that the R8 is a threat to what luxury cars are typically supposed to be.

It was hard (and still is hard) for me to fully understand the reference as well. It seemed like the focus was more on the humor and showing off the car than properly conveying the message.

Thanks there Emile. Yeah, it's an odd/dumb commercial. Like the car, pretty much hate the commercial.

I thought the commercial was fantastic simply because the R8 looked so great in it, and the way the R8 looks is like a total threat to everything on the road.

Too bad it has the same exact engine and specifications as the Audi RS4. I am not sure that a 420hp V8 is worthy of a glass window showing it off.

The LED headlights look funky.

I also wouldn't pay $100K for an A4 engine.

The car's "head" in the bed looks like a merged Mercedes/Rolls Royce front end.

Price it at $60K, and then we're talking.
